You realize new jobs have been added too...who do you think shops for all the online orders
@NintendoGuyBri2 ай бұрын
Yeah. It may be a good idea. But, it’s the same thing as self checkout. Do you really suppose that people scan every item in their cart? We have a similar system at the store that I work at, which is quite a bit different from a smart cart. You scan items from your phone. But, the problem is that people don’t always scan everything in their cart. They always pass by on the more expensive stuff, hoping they can get by. Then when an employee scans the expensive items with their device at checkout, they’re not scanned. People only scan the cheap stuff, hoping to get away with it.

I wonder if they say space out and say “Be sure to scan all items before placing in bagging area!”

how do you get a receipt? Im assuming its digital to your kroger account only? eh?
@rooneye3 жыл бұрын
Good point. I know my mum would LOVE this, but ONLY if you could just walk in and use it without signing up and that you'd also get a physical proper receipt. These shop accounts can be hacked etc. We've just been hacked with eBay and Paypal (and if THEIR security ain't strong enough, two of the biggest most players on the web, then little independent shops like this have no chance) and never got our money back, the older generation once that happens to them they're like "Sign up to another account and add my credit card details again to get hacked? NO THANKS"

You can choose to get your receipt via an email or text message.

Kroger: "Our checkout clerks won't be affected with these new smart carts." Me (to Kroger): "We'll see. You already have the standing self-checkouts, and those have put a few cashiers out of work. Your 'scan, bag, & go' mobile app technology still isn't available in all of your stores (and it's a hit-or-miss in the few it is available, with most employees not trained). These carts may help if you're buying only a few bags of groceries, paying with only one credit or debit card, and don't plan on using any paper coupons. Kroger, we know what you and the other big-box retailers are really planning to do, so please, just tell the truth already instead of covering it up.

What if I change my mind on an item? Decide that I don't want it after all. How do they know you scanned every item?
@KishBish2 жыл бұрын
They probably have cameras on the carts checking the scans, plus the cart might have a scale to check the weight of what has been added- similar to the self-checkout registers.. if you need to make a change, there's probably a button to call for help..

@@HardKore5250 its easy if you take personal from the front end and place them else where like grocery produce the deli each department is alotted a number of hours based on sales so if you have 200 hours and five employees thats 40 hours each if you have seven employees you are down to approximately 28hours each depending on the contract employees could lose their eligibility for insurance

Exactly! Ppl are dumb! It’s not like prices are gonna go down. They’re just helping cashiers lose their jobs while they do all the work themselves and the store profits. Today is shopping cart. Next is smart gas station clerks, waitresses, nurses, bus drivers, teachers, even doctors. It never stops

@@miles5600 the only problem is a few merchants still choose not to accept contactless payments, especially with Apple or Google Pay, and Kroger is one of those.
