Ha! My bumper was corroded the same way. I just put HUGE washers to mount it again 🤣. Rubys lower rear body looks so clean! Wow! LOve the drama and entertainment in your videos! Berlin is an amazing place to live and save volvos 🤣.

Sounds like it really is a common issue! Thanks, sometimes it's stressful trying to put a video together though 😃

HUGE HUGE Thanks for posting this! I have SAME wagon, RED, 1991 and just luv it. As for your video here, THANKS AGAIN because you're the ONLY one to show how the bumper COVER attaches to the SIDE of the BODY, showing CLIPS and PLASTIC HOLDER DETAIL. Well, I have just got a second wagon - 1990 - White. It comes with mild body damage and clips broken off and long gone. I had no trace of how to fasten the cover. Now from your video I understand exactly how it is fastens. I subscribed. (ha, now looking to fix front cover too.)

Oh yes, Derek over at VGG would be proud of those vice grips! You do very well considering the lack of power you have there. That’s pretty crap about the seller ghosting you!! Great video fella!

If you take the cap and straw off an old WD40 can you can put it on a spray paint tin and flood paint into small gaps like that. Ideal for rust converter and wax oil applications.

Just saw what you sprayed on the bolt. You need a real penetrating oil. WD-40 is a water displacer. Master Blaster or something like that will work better as it creeps as well as dissolving rust. When it comes to the bumper bar, use spray on rubber stone guard under spray to form a barrier between the dissimilar metals. That prevents the galvanic response that causes the bumper bar to go bad on the first place.
@Involvod
@Involvod 2 жыл бұрын
Thanks, I recently bought WD-40's own "PB blaster" type product and its great, I sometimes also use the cold shock ones they seem to do something too

Better paint the Al bumper frame and put a spacer or so to prevent bimetallic corrosion. I covered everything with a thick layer of mike sanders as the rear is one of the spots many wagons die.

Nice job! Those cars definitely look good in red, and I always liked the black handles they put on in later years. That sucks about the trash being dumped.

For rusty bolts Plus Gas is better than wd40. It's looking good with the bumper all straight and black.

"Smells like sheep in here." HAAA It's amazing how quiet those trams are as they sneak by. I need to go and find the video about the fire. Looks good with the bumper on it, any idea how long until inspection?

Ah man! Finding parts for a 240 of any kind is near impossible here. There are none in the wrecking yards. I've been after the antenna and rear washer nozzel for my 245.

It's getting worrying now! I'm just glad there's such a strong aftermarket parts network for them, Skandix carry almost everything, but I don't think they ship to the states.
