Checking out the Bunting Labs AI Vectorizer Plugin for QGIS

There's a new plugin that can assist you in your digitizing tasks: the Bunting Labs AI Vectorizer plugin.
It uses AI. In this video I'm checking how easy it is to install and how well it works.

Not blown away by the results... It feels like you could manually draw the lines quicker than waiting for the AI to figure it out. Appreciate the effort in testing it, though-really interesting stuff. It's odd to see this pitched as "AI" when it seems more like a basic contrast detection algorithm at play. I mean, if the AI had any real experience with maps, how could it possibly confuse a blue lake shoreline with a black grid line? Weird...

It has potential. I used it on a 25x25m pixel scan of a geologic map with mixed results. My main issue was a constant "cannot connect with completion server" error message although i was connected to good internet. Could not find any way to solve this.

Well, it seems useless for scans of lower quality but still recognizable beyound any doubt by human eye.
