On my Blisstool (analog), I can control the strength of the signal that I am pushing out with the gain and the sensitivity of the return signal with the threshold. I always assumed that a digital machine changed both the transmitting signal and the receiving level when you change the sensitivity. I will have to do some research on that. Great review of that machine, Mark. 👍👍

@@Mark-TBH I am wrong on the sensitivity increasing the signal output on the digital machines. I have dug into my Blisstool manual on Gain and Threshold.

I bought this exact MD to give as a dirty Santa Present this year at our Christmas party... then after 2 days of it sitting in the box I surrendered to temptation and started playing with it. Needless to say, I ordered a second to give as a dirty Santa present this year. I've been using it for 2 days now just in my yard, put it on jewelry mode to weed out the iron, and so far I've found: $1.95 in various coins, including a buffalo head nickle. 3 metal drawer handles that are old as the hills, that for some reason register as the most valuable metal on the display, so I'm curious what they're made of. They're so crudded up, I can't even see the actual metal. And last but not least, a 16" necklace chain that isn't magnetic, so I hope it's silver. Can't find any markings on it.
@Mark-TBH2 жыл бұрын
That is awesome. For the necklace look up by the clasp. Usually that is where they 925 would be stamped. You got to let me knw if it is Silver. Congrats

@@Mark-TBH It was broken at one end, so I went back out a bit later to recheck the spot I found it to see if I broke it with the shovel while digging it out. I did, and I found the other end. It was an 18" chain, and it is 925 silver. Also stamped "Italy", so I guess it was made in Italy but no brand stamp. Do you have any tips for general locations to try out that have decent success? I went to a local park today thinking that would be a good place to look, and it probably would be if not for the insane amount of trash in the dirt. Cans, pull tabs, screws, metallic wrappers. I'm sure there's good stuff there somewhere, but I just felt like I was cleaning up a landfill. Had a pinpointer shipped to me overnight that I got to use today also. Man that's a world of difference!

I just got one and live north Pittsburgh in the Cranberry twp area along the Washington trail. I am an avid coin and artifact collector. Any recommended areas to search?
@Mark-TBH2 жыл бұрын
Cranberry was a ton of old farms and fields. I would suggest using on-line maps like Historic Aerials. I was able to locate some nice areas to detect. To start I would jst pick a random area by you and start playing with the maps so you can see what was there and if it would be interesting to try to detect in that area. Me, I love the old Pittsburgh Parks. If you ever want to try a collaboration hunt shoot me an email. Also goof luck and happy hunting

It's a pretty simple machine. Basically just turn it on, select the what you want to find (coins, rings, etc) and swing the machine over the ground. If there is anything conductive in the ground, it will send a signal back to the coil to the control box and it will display a seet of number and a tone that will alert you of what is under the ground.
