Checking Out Vintage Guitars at Songbirds Museum

I took a trip to Chattanooga, Tennessee to check out Songbirds guitar museum. I had a great time and saw some amazing vintage guitars! I'm sad to say they have now closed permanently. I'm glad I got the chance to see these guitars in person, and be able to record the guitars so you have a chance to see them too.

Those lines on the 1955 LP goltop (5:55) are caused by drastic changes in temperature, causing the guitar finish to spand and contract and eventually break, causing those lines. It is commonly called weather checking.

Fiesta red is a very festive, bright red. When it fades it has that "coral pink" sort of look. If they used clear coat it fades to orange, like Gary Moore's that got stolen, IIRC. The only way to get that faded Fiesta Red is to spend a fortune on a real one, or a small fortune on a Custom Shop Relic, or have a guy that specializes in relic finishes do it for you on a body you purchase, or a guitar you choose to have refinished. Fender rotates their colors, but in the last few years had done some models in Fiesta Red. You may like it (I do) but you may prefer the faded look, which is what you were seeing.
