World #1 in Blitz, Hikaru Nakamura (USA, 2885) played Russian talent GM Alexey Sarana (RUS, 2657) in round 8 of World Blitz 2019.
Usually a queen+knight combo is more dangerous than a queen+bishop. However, in this video you see how a bishop on a powerful diagonal can be superior than a knight that has absolutely no outposts.

Why do they always move the kings to the center of the board when the game is over?
@klieu90210
@klieu90210 4 жыл бұрын
To register a result on the DGT electronic chessboards, you pick up both kings and place them both on central squares. If white has won, they both go on white squares. If black won, they both go on black squares. If the result was a draw, one king goes on a white square and the other on a black square.

The blunder happened with Nb8 allowing the bishop to enter the king's position and create some sort of a mating net. That Knight on d7 was holding the position for black. Unfortunately, that's what happens in Blitz when you're down to 15 seconds your accuracy drops significantly.

At 6:51 he could of took the white bishop with the pawn wthhhh, there's was no trick behind it because if the knigth move, the queen would be hanging nd white would be down, also the pawns are blocking the black pawns, even if he was kinda low on time he would've send it also the bishop is not block by the pawn either way i think talking the knigth with the pawn is more effective
