1st interview I saw on Jai Opetaia was in the build up up to the the London Olympics in 2012, it was on a Saturday morning sports show on Channel 4, it was because He was the youngest Australian 🇦🇺 Olympian at 16yrs old and also Tim Cahill’s cousin, who was a Huge Star at Everton at the time! They were saying that Boxing was historically a family tradition going back Generations, that’s why Tim’s Goal Celebration was to Shadow Box the Corner Flag to remember his fighting heritage! Crazy to think, I’ve been following Jai, as best I could, all these years! Big Up Jai, Great Display and Knockout, Salute from the UK🇬🇧 and and Big Respect to Samoa 🇼🇸 and Australia 🇦🇺! 👌💪🫡

Save up, Grind with boxing get a couple more fights in then move to Aussie

@@maiahaumu8236 Wow! Yeah Jai seems like a good guy. I have listened to him and his dad talk quite a bit. You have to be real tough to do that well in Oz. They Ozzies are tough minded people and he has their support from what I can see. He has no time for BS but they are humble people. I love to see Island and Maori boys do well in boxing. I have Maori heritage also and my uncle used to have a boxing gym in Manurewa. He was ex army golden gloves. My dad took me and my brother down there when we were young for a wee while. We were little guys but it gave us the confidence to defend ourselves on the street. LOL. Follow your dream bro! Big respect for anyone who is prepared to get in the ring. All I did was fight bullies outside it. LOL. I found it a different story when the bully could box a bit as well! So 2 trained fighters is on a different level to any street fight.

@@mikeshinoda703let me guess Bredis is old because he lost but Usyk who is 2 or so years younger than Bredis is levels above Jai ? You guys love to downplay Jai accomplishments. With your logic Usyk is old and isn’t as good as he used to be so Jai should be able to defeat him, see how silly that sounds ?
@mikeshinoda70313 күн бұрын
@alamai7799 no not that. Just that the only real name Opetia has on his record at the moment is Breidis in 2 close fights. He's a terrific fighter but its too early to say p4p as his record isn't strong enough. As you bring up Usyk.. Usyk at Cruiser weight beat Golwacki, Huck, Hunter, Breidis, Gassiev, Bellew. Much much stronger run at cruiser. But you could argue that Jai can only beat who's infront of him and at the moment cruiser is pretty weak.

@@coadycamcoad7352why is boxing like this. Like its the end of the world to lose. You learn the most from your losses. You can feel where the bar is and where u gotta be next time to be at that level. David ddnt know that level, now he does, now he knows what he needs to do now he know what he has to be. Now he know all the work wasnt enough know he know he wasnt good enough now he knows how good he has to be. He will be back a different man.

@@baabaablacksheep4247 Is not just the loss, on which I totally agree, not the end of the world when one is so young. The problem is how that loss came, everytime a boxers gets sparked out it removes "mileage" from their careers, what did he learn from this loss that could offbalance the damage he took? Had they like gone to points, even if he got schooled would have been a different discussion.
