Opetaia is the best fighter from Australia at the moment - he's accurate with both hands, & like Marvin Hagler, his right hook looks very fluid & natural. Massey needs a long rest after this. The punishment that he absorbed to the body was the worst I've seen in quite a while.

As an Aussie, Beterbiev in with Opetaia is the fight I really want to see. The Chechen fought as a Cruiser at amateur and has spoken of moving up as a final challenge. Jai isn't a big Cruiser. Turki is keen apparently, Jai & Beterbiev are keen - bring it on. 👍

The only thing Opetia needs to fix is he drops his right hand when he throws his straight left, against a sharp counter puncher or someone with power he could honestly get dropped or KO’d. Especially in later rounds when he tends to tire out. He’s susceptible to a counter left hook.

Massey said in an interview that inbetween this fight camp he got married and joe gallagher (his trainer) told him to enjoy the rest of the day and have a good time. That's not what you do in the build up of the biggest fight of your life. Obviously massey was just here for the payday. I'm sorry but that's just fraud. Nothing about any of these fights is saying home of boxing. Zero atmosphere and mind numbingly banal commentary. Compare this with commentary on top rank, PBC or others stateside and the realization is “there’s light years between the two models. The two British commentators may have been worl champs; the whole world gets that, but take away thoughts from a knowledgeable fan is buzz overkill……..

@@808shortts my comment was on atmosphere and the commentary being conveyed by by 'in this case dazn'. ...there are good match ups and that's not in question. the atmosphere is akin to an amateur event. great to see a new locale happening for boxing. they tried this in macau. seemingly riyhad has got more traction right now, but that doesn't take away from the lacklustre experience of watching the fights and the excessively bland commentary.

@@jaimietew413 some can be and i'm not defending or promoting that idea. i am saying as was clear, that the commentary is horrendous (and this is a dazn problem because the us based team of grisham mannix and mora bring it: the hybrid team that they put together for saudi events...doesn't). at the same time there is no tradition of 'eventing' in saudi so the atmosphere in the stadium is missing big time. balancing that wasn't the case in the more recent UK event.
