Reckless complaining about Orby being at home taking care of Levi, his and Eddie's son, pisses me off, they're all adults and can handle a cold while Levi is a tot and NEEDS Orby and Eddie to help him feel save, secure, and on the road to recovery. If they can't understand why his SON would be more important than practice before a competition no matter how big or small it is then they need to rethink the choices they've made in life. I thought CA teams were supposed to be like family.

Been watching cheerleaders since the beginning. Feel like this year the Smoes have lost their mojo. I don’t think they have the heart and drive of the past teams from 2013-2016. They don’t seem to have bonded together. Reckless are so good but they also need to stick together and not wait till the week before worlds then it’s too late.

Well they are all different athletes so ofc the vibes are gonna be different. They basically have a whole new bunch of athletes on the team and a handful of returners, maybe they just aren't as close as those from the 2013-2016 period

@@SUN-xh2km yess their energies as coaches complement each other really well and i think heavily contributed to the way the 2013-2016 smoed athletes gelled together. The balance of pushing athletes to their physical limits (eddie) , whilst having a loving and supportive element (orby) i think helped the kids a lot. To me, it's kind of like the team went from a family w the coaches as dads to a single parent, making it harder to bond.

As a coach myself, I know how hard it is to put your family first. I also know that athletes don’t get what being a parent means because the reality is they aren’t parents. Orby did the right thing by staying home with his child. This is why teams have more than one coach. He left them with another coach and the team needs to step up and decide what is important.

Some of the athletes should realize that you should always put family first over anything and everything and if you have to leave for a few days to be with your family when they are sick or hurt, you should be there until they are better because family are with you forever. Orby can walk away to take care of his son if he wanted to because he has to take care of a baby who needs help compared to those who are capable of taking care of themselves like the team.
