When Cheer was first introduced in 1950, it was actually white...but "Blue-Magic Whitener" was introduced in 1951, and voila! "NEW BLUE CHEER!"

No, this came on after the episode "Hollywood Anniversary." The episode was actually based on their real-life 13th Wedding Anniv. that Desi threw for Lucille at the Mocambo, in Hollywood on November 30th, 1953. Notice the attire they're wearing, in comparison to that episode.
