@nrthstr116 жыл бұрын
Their reaction at the very end was really spontaneous. This is one of those rare moments. The take called for them to do the song and kiss at the end happily but according to Lucy herself as well as Desi Arnaz the whole scene made Lucy tear up, thinking about their troubles having their first birth with baby Lucie. She began to cry and so did Desi prompting that very tender ending. They wanted to re-shoot it but the audience shouted them down and saying it was perfect and so they kept it! et voila-TV History

Such an incredible moment in TV and on this show. Never fails to make me smile. Though this show was scripted, no ad libbing whatsoever, they truly had the emotions of an expecting couple. Though this was their second child, Luci was first, it was a crazy coincidence when this episode aired Lucille gave birth to their son Desi Jr. on the same day. They were glad they decided that Lucy and Ricky would have a son. Though their marriage didn't last it was said that after the divorce they did their best at co-parenting despite Lucille's hectic schedule and Desi's drinking and philandering. She said that they made better friends than they did being a couple. Though this show was only on for 5 years, it's still going almost 60 years later. It's funny no matter how many times you've seen it. Pure genius to everyone affiliated with this show.

While explaining this episode, he mentioned this part as being the most dearest to his heart!! That is when I forgave him for ruining the marriage. Desi, in the video I believe was about 65 years old. He died 4 years later at 69 years old from cancer. RIP Desi & Lucy.

My sister loved watching, "I Love Lucy," so I'd watch it with her. Unfortunately, I learned that behind the scenes, William Frawley was a massive racist, and that Ricky and Lucy's marriage was practically dead. Their issues, I read, didn't begin after they started filming like some thought, but Lucy created this show to save them from the issues they already had. But Ricky kept on cheating on her. But I heard that many years after they got divorced, Ricky continued to send her flowers on their anniversary because he still loved her. She still loved him. Also, I read that Vivian Vance couldn't stand William. I seriously catch watch the show anymore knowing these facts.
