Black woman in my 20s here. If I were to be dating someone and I clash so badly with their friends that I feel like I need to be arguing with and correcting them and I think they are horribly offensive, that’s a sign that me and that person just aren’t a good match. I just don’t have the energy to be doing that and I don’t want to be around people who I don’t feel are reasonable level of kind and respectful. I’m not trying to lecture people about their biases in my everyday life. That is not my responsibility. And it sucks. My mother-in-law complained about the food at my wedding. It was "no good." It was a steak she ordered medium well that was cooked medium well. It was a relatively small party at a pretty expensive restaurant. She was just being a diva, like usual. Making our wedding all about her. She ate our wedding cake that we saved until our first anniversary. My freezer was having problems and my parents didn't have room, so we put it in her freezer with her knowledge and permission. It wasn't just a piece each for me and him. It was 2 whole cakes, one regular and one diabetic. They each were decorated with our names. She said she didn't know. She ate both whole cakes. She also gave us no wedding gift because she couldn't afford it after paying for her gown, alterations, nails, purse, hair, makeup, jewelry, shoes, etc. OMG I could go on, but it'll be too long. She's a sneaky, manipulate person. People believe her.

You may be onto something when you said that, when MM's actions were inappropriate, Harry didn't know what to say. From the start she did raise public eyebrows because of her behaviour, and because of the way she hijacked their first public appearance as the "Fab Four" to rattle on about feminism. I remember watching that performance and feeling very uneasy - to say nothing of patronised. At first most thought she had just made newbie mistakes and Harry would correct her, but when she carried on repeating the same behaviours it became obvious that he hadn't - or couldn't - tell her where she was going wrong. Harry's biographer, Angela Levin, was able to follow him for a year, part of which coincided with his engagement to MM. She later said that, at events she attended, he looked visibly uncomfortable when she'd barge in front of him, take over conversations and generally behave as if she was the royal and Harry was her consort. So I think you may be right. He was aware, he was uncomfortable, but for whatever reason, he didn't stop her .

It's probably a lot of factors at play there. I don't mean to pull the culture card here but... I imagine it's uncomfortable for a British person to confront someone about their bad behavior... This is likely especially difficult for someone in the Royal family. They aren't used to being disrespected so they don't have much experience correcting (politely or not) someone's behavior. This would help to explain William's one outburst at Meghan. He'd likely tried 101 ways to communicate that Meghan was being inappropriate and rude indirectly. But she didn't get it because she had a narrow minded vision and zero respect for Royalty (alongside zero self reflection ). Direct conflict is not something anyone likes, especially Britons. This is my opinion as an American with some British friends and if I've read this wrong, please correct me I'm not a psycho lol He also was... too in love with her and scared of losing her. I know we see thru her, but he doesn't... He's very in love (bewitched?) By Meghan and really does feel he can't live without her. So, yeah, he takes it hard and shoves down his discomfort and the little voice inside him saying "this isn't right, this isn't right." He's so backwards from that relationship, he didn't even trust his brother for a hot minute like come on Harry. You're trusting a woman you met a year ago over your brother of over 30 years what the heck. ... idk, just opinions here. I get the point about "why is someone letting this grifter wander in....." - it's often said. However I also think that it's looking at the situation with the benefit of hindsight. I'm fairly sure that the RF had doubts about her because they tried to caution Harry to wait, but in 2017 no one could have predicted the Oprah interview, the Netflix series and Spare. I think it's reasonably well-known now that Harry threatened his family with 'racism' if they didn't comply with his wishes. He's an adult and we don't have an Absolute Monarchy so there was nothing the RF could have done to stop him marrying in a civil ceremony. Had that happened there would have been a scandal and the accusation of racism may well have had some traction because none of us knew MM. The RF, and I daresay the government, couldn't allow that to happen because of the distress it would cause our own diverse communities here in the UK and in the Commonwealth. By the time H & M did accuse the family of racism we did know her. We'd had two years of her behaviour and two years of seeing how well she had been treated, which is why I don't think that particular weapon had much impact here.

@@alexandraruggli2615 I've certainly heard that rumour, but I don't think it's true because the timeline is too tight. If she said she was pregnant then that would be the story until the ring was on her finger and the public knew about the engagement. However, the engagement was at the end of November and the wedding date - 19th May - was announced within 2 weeks. May would be too far into the future because she'd be around 7 months pregnant at the time and no royal bride would trot down the aisle in that condition. Personally, I think the wedding date was already established before the engagement was announced, but if it wasn't then there was just that 2 week window between the engagement and the announcement of the wedding date in which the baby could be lost. It's not impossible but it would look pretty obvious that she'd tricked Harry.

Personally, I think the reason the RF accepted her was always the threat of racist allegations which started early. MM glommed onto this as a trigger issue to really dig her claws into with the RF and amplify (narcissists are very good at sniffing out vulnerabilities-they live to exploit vulnerabilities in all their dealings and it’s largely how they operate). I also believe MM is a malignant narcissist (she behaves like my sister who is a narcissist and their primary goal is control). She knew she had them, she could control the RF with threats of racist allegations and from there it went, right into the ditch.

You’re spot on-the look of sheer revulsion on his face when she mocked the curtsey was unmistakable but I’m not sure if it’s that he doesn’t know how to verbalize or is afraid of the consequences from MM if he does. Former RMN: Registered Mental Nurse (UK) You have to look at peoples lives and balance what is MENTAL ILLNESS. There have been many royals who suffered mental illness, Princess Diana was known for her eating disorders. But as for Harry - how did he manage to get through Sandhurst & serve for 10 years? HOW? He's doesn't attribute his mental stresses\anxiety to post-traumatic of service, but 'the lens of a camera & his mother's death' excuse me - that was prior to his entrance to Sandhurst and Service. No one should be ashamed of suffering mental illness whether neuroses (minor mental illness) or psychosis (major mental illnesses). But considering Harry's age, the amount of professional support available to him over the years - he had MORE OPPORTUNIITY than many, to seek & having successful treatments & coping mechanisms, he obviously managed for 10 years to be free of symptoms. Perhaps he ought to give up the off-beat drugs he has been taking. This is a rule of thumb statement, people are individuals, but if Harry continues down the road of paranoia he ought to stop smoking the wacky-backy!

Harry was what we Brits call a typical “Hooray Henry”. You probably don’t know what this term means but it is a definition of young men from upper class families in their 20s and up until they get married who behave in a rather puerile and debauched manner when they are out socialising together, they use foul language, they drink too much, they make puerile jokes and generally behave pretty badly but they view that as very amusing. Their girlfriends, sisters, cousins, and friends generally join in and find all these antics very funny and amusing also. The fact that when MM came along she was telling them off and was not amused indicated to them that she had no sense of humour and didn’t understand that this was a supposed to be a fun weekend when everyone joins into the spirit of things but MM just couldn’t understand what they were doing and was being too straight-laced and schoolmarmish about everything. To them it was just good fun and she was spoiling their weekend. They must have been horrified at her attitude and thought Harry was mad to be involved with such a humourless person! In the UK having a sense of humour and being willing to laugh at yourself and your behaviour is a very desirable quality and highly valued by everybody. The worst thing you can say about anyone is that they have no sense of humour.

I heard the reason Suits dumped Meghan is she was only the romantic interest for one of the male leads who was leaving the show. With him gone, there was no reason to keep Meghan in the cast especially since the audience had not shown much enthusiasm for Rachel Zane. Suits was the pinnacle of Meghan's acting career, the best role she had managed to land. She was now pushing 40, the end of career for women who never made the A-list. Even an A-list actress has difficulty maintaining a career after 40. There are always younger and prettier women willing to prance around in their underwear on camera. Meghan had never succeeded in raising her image above cheesecake level. Marriage to a wealthy man would have to be her lifeboat.

While I don’t think Markle was right to criticise all of Harry’s friends when she met them at the hunting weekend, I could certainly imagine finding a whole group of ‘laddish’ people just awful company. That’s why I don’t hang out with such a personality and certainly don’t marry it - Markle is a complete idiot if she found that personality so obnoxious and married it anyway.

I recall back at the time re the wedding inJamaica: MM was Harry's plus one (so technically she was 'invited'), but then they had a fight/break up (Harry's instigation) so it was assumed she would not go to the wedding as the invitations was rescinded by implication. But to the surprise of everybody, she turned up last minute to stake her claim on Harry (hence arriving separately using private jet - she didn't arrange same transport together with Harry b/c she wasn't supposed to be there ).

Many therapists are absolutely clueless about it, but I think more and more are learning about narcissism, thank goodness. It’s something of a silent mental illness epidemic methinks- the sufferers tend to be those around them not the narcissists themselves. Narcissism as a behaviour pattern works for narcissists: they get what they want so there’s no motivation to change. It’s those who surround them, who have to live with them, who are damaged. Grew up with one. Nightmare. Bully. Awful, awful, ruthless behaviour is the norm when there’s a narc in the family, sadly. 😘

I think they were on a break before Inskip's wedding - but she had the invitation. Just the body language in the photos says it all. Harry looked inebriated and a bit like a young guy. There is a photo of when she arrived and put both of her hands on his face and kissed him on the mouth (he was standing right next to his friends). So inappropriate. She was not leaving that wedding without him. He really didn't stand a chance.

Charles inherited over £850 million from his mother upon her death and yet did not pay a penny inheritance tax - you try inheriting more than £250k and you will pay 40% inheritance on every pound over that. The RF are exempt from paying income tax, corporation tax on their many business interests and don't pay any CGT on any of their wealth. You really should do more research. Charles is weak, woke and a waste of space.

Many, many years ago my husband was in the Canadian army and we were stationed in Germany. I was a young wife and admittedly quite "innocent", Well, at a party they put on a record of rugby songs. To say they were off-colour is an understatement. I was mortified and felt SO uncomfortable. How did I handle it? I went into the kitchen to assist the hostess and never said a word. On the way home I let my husband know how difficult it had been for me - but he was the only one who knew. What I'm trying to say is - this wasn't my party and I felt I had no right to speak out. Everyone else seemed to be having a high old time so I did the only thing I could - I walked away. If it had been in my own house, I might have said something or perhaps would probably have just made sure a second record wasn't played - but I felt I had no right to do so in someone else's.

As much as I love hearing your review, its not doing much for my blood pressure - M & H are soooo frustrating!! Meghan’s self righteous, defiant, oppositional, knows better than anyone else attitude is unbearable. However, with Harry, (who has done a great job of taking the magic out of the monarchy)I find it really interesting that his ADHD diagnosis hasn’t been discussed more by people. Admittedly it was during his live therapy he received it, but harry didn’t seem shocked, so I presume he already knew. A lot of people think ADHD is just little 10 year old boys, jumping around hyperactively, when actually some of the key symptoms (impulsivity, rejection, sensitivity, over sharing, anxiety,emotional disregulation - to name a few) I think ,if the diagnosis was correct,could easily explain a lot of his choices and decisions. The reason a lot of neuro typical society don’t know much about ADHD is because of the stigma attached. So why didn’t he discuss this when talking about his mental health if the reason was to open up discussion and breakdown barriers? Although, he’s not exactly a positive role model of someone with adhd 😂Maybe a good example of someone who doesn’t understand their diagnosis and look for helpful coping mechanisms though…

The problem IMO with Henry coming out about his mental health is the way he does it. He has the money and access to best mental health help there is and doesnt seem to get any better just moans about it. The poor begger who doesn't have that will look and say well if it hasn't helped him after years of therapy, put myself in debt possibly, why should I even bother. Again IMO I think the mockumentry & the book has helped to strenthen the bond between C&W. A lot of people call her beautiful but it isn't a word I would use. She is certainly attractive but not beautiful and imp she often fails to maje the most of herself, which baffles me given the money she throws at it. She looked stunning at the last military even they attended in the long red dress but she often seems to choose dresses that don't suit her shape & her hair frequently looks messy. I reckon it's probably difficult for her to keep it very straight & neat. It might have been better to work with nature and embrace her natural curls. I get the feeling she'd be mortified to wear African hair.

The one thing I don’t get about this whole saga is how those in charge allowed particularly Markle to not just give her what she demands but they did little to get Harry to snap out of it. The only ones who actually did anything the best they could in the circumstances is William and Catherine, meanwhile you’d think that in the early days of Markle interacting with the royal institute that they get the memo she had to earn a title first.
