Older message but you get an endorphin dump from eating very spicy things. Gets you a weird "high" feeling if you go past your tolerance. Weirdly it does take away a lot of the pain. Capsaicin cramps are the worst though 😂

I never thought I would subscribe and watch tons of videos from a competitive eater because the big events on TV never really interested me. But, it's a lot more fun to see you facing all these different challenges and not really knowing what to expect than it is to see someone just eat more hot dogs than someone else. Really loving the channel, and really just your general sense of humor! Also, we call the foam on top of a beer "head" here (USA) as well. Just figured I'd share since you said that's what you call it in the UK. I guess Bob just didn't know somehow.

For anyone wondering after Adam’s comments; Florida passed the Clean Indoor Air Act to protect patrons and most workers from secondhand smoke in 1985, then in 1993 voters statewide approved expansion to include indoor spaces of excluded businesses that serve food, etc. but left a few outliers like stand alone bars, those with smoking limited to outdoor patios and those that derive less than 10% of their revenue from food sales. It’s been well over 20 years since I’ve unknowingly walked inside a Florida business that allowed smoking (25+ years for a restaurant) that allowed smoking. In 2019 it was expanded to also ban vaping devices, etc., so obviously in 2022, those establishments are few and far between. That also might explain why the clientele was “smashed”… the challenge was at a full blown BAR with smoking (they’re professionals going to drink) not at a “restaurant”. If I remember correctly, the alcohol industry and bar / club owners lobbied together and spent millions to retain smoking, due to the connection of (smoking “complimenting” drinking theory) for clientele. They basically claimed hardship and said a smoking ban would literally force them out of business. There’s also an active hotline to report businesses that do not adhere to the FCIAA. As a Florida resident, I thought the history was worth noting. BOB and BEARD rock!!! ✌🏻

Banning smoking in the UK and Australia encouraged new patronage of families and just people generally who don't want to inhale smoke and risk lung cancer when going out for a meal and entertainment. If I was there, I would either eat outside or go elsewhere, I don't want to risk lung cancer. If banning smoking made these businesses unviable, then much of the developed world wouldn't have bars and clubs but clearly they do, this goes for pokies too.

I think those Da Bomb Inferno wings would defeat most people! They are the 8th item on the 'Hot Ones' show with Sean Evans - and I haven't seen any guests not react badly to them. Even Trevor Noah who powered through all the others even the 2 even hotter wings, said they were "horrible! this is not food!" That sauce has a Scoville level of 135,600, so well done to Notorious B.O.B and even Beard for getting through 4 of them!

It's actually better to pour the beer with head when you're doing a challenge like this. It let's some co2 out, which otherwise mixes poorly with the food, and fills you up and can upset your stomach. Good job beard!!

As a Beer-tender, the rule for how much "head" or foam on the beer is a half inch to one inch. For those not in the USA, 1.2 cm to 2.5 cm.

I was always told to aim for about 2 finger's width of head on a beer. For casual beer pouring that is! I have no bar or bartending experience whatsoever.

I’m from Canada … have to say that in 2021/22 I’m shocked to hear that they still allow smoking in restaurants/bars. But then this is the US and they are still on the Imperial system.

Yeah they were also pretty back woods middle of nowhere, almost every state has an anti-smoking indoor law. As for the imperial system we have the 3rd largest country with the #1 economy that would require billions or trillions to retool their products for a majority of their market. Americans are taught the metric system as well especially if they take an interest in science such as myself, the default of what we use. Think of every road sign and intestate sign they would have to change for all 50 states that are basically countries.

I can clearly see Mr. Beard not liking the time of this challenge. Give him half of the same food and he will smash it in less than 20 minutes. I think he did this for BOB and out of humbleness.
