I love Sprague and his techniques. I have begun saving up small soapstone chunks from the fab shop I work in for that reason. Really nice piece you made. We all get inspired by others in this field. I only wish my basic lathes could turn down under 600 rpms. None yet but I am building my own bowl lathe that will do up to 30 inch in diameter. Shooting for 200 rpm in low speed.

Art in action. Amazing end product. I so enjoy watching you find a solution to a problem where so many others would allow the challenge to beat them. I also sympathise where tools get dulled in short time as I have just spent days turning a South African yellowwood root that is infused with sand and quartz chips. Well done Kim your persistence and ability to think through a challenge, as always, produced a wonderful heirloom. Thank you for the inspiration and for sharing with us.

Ooops - being a day late to watch your video... :-) Hello TipKim - the needed time and effort paid out to the full extend: what a beauty of a cheese cutting plate! (Plus a nice exercise for a certain long planned platter/flat bowl for a special place). I hope that you'll feel better soon and that this endless election finally will be over soon... puzzling not only to Europeans but to Americans, too, I reckon? I hope that you'll have a blessed weekend and next week and you take some time to recover from whatever 'put you through the wind' (right expression?). Don't exhaust yourself to much - you're still needing to be here a long time in order to feed Missie and your family besides showing us, your devoted subscribers, your artistry and these magic fingers!
