Taking some family recipes and making them myself has been what I have always done. I will say that your recipes while being so simple make them so complex with flavor profile. I think my most favorite part of your videos is that you tell us multiple ways to cook what your cooking. If you can't cook on the grill, cook in the oven like this, etc. Personally I love seeing how cracking eggs give you such a hard time. Makes me feel like I'm not the only one lol. I could recommend a spicy salsa we use here in Ensenada which is made solely of dried chiles and a bit of tomato: the chiles are called "pico de pájaro" and we often ask for the more piquant variety, you boil them for 5 min, let them rest for another 10 min and puree them with just a bit of the water, a bit of olive oil, a bit of white vinegar or apple vinegar and salt. Appart you boil a three big tomatoes as red and ripe as possible (optional: broil them or char them) and puree them, add a bit of the chile sauce to make it as piquant as you want to. The chile sauce can be used as is.

Taquitos are made with corn tortillas, these are flautas. Coming from a Hispanic LA native.

FYSA, your flag shirt that I assume is reassembling the US flag, is missing a stripe (13 colonies)... and it should be a white stripe that is next to the bottom of your star square. Hence where Red, White, and Blue come from.

Isn’t using flour tortillas rolled up called flautas?
@TheSelena27213 жыл бұрын
No, flautas are made with corn tortillas ( traditionally ). I would never make with flour tortillas.
@sherieclifford99833 жыл бұрын
Sorry to sound dumb but at the restaurant we have here they use flour tortillas & call them flautas, go figure “tomato tomato” heh if they taste good I don’t care what they’re called, lol
@TheSelena27213 жыл бұрын
@@sherieclifford9983 oh man, you're not dumb. Traditionally they are made with corn, but that doesn't make them wrong. I have had them made with flour before when I lived in Northern Virginia lol but being a Hispanic and growing up, I am use to using traditional ingredients and I prefer corn tortillas but honestly I'd still eat them with flour lol.. but all recipes can be tweaked, I mean does it really matter if it's delicious.

@felixcat94553 жыл бұрын
Shouldnt these technically be flautas since you used flour tortillas instead of corn?
@bubbahyde3223 жыл бұрын
Adding corn would make it more of a salad than a flauta/taquito no?
