Our third and final leg of the Botswana Trip 2022 adventure took us from the bustling town of Maun to the tiny little town of Rakops, where we filled up one last time before heading to Deception Valley in the Central Kalahari Game Reserve, or CKGR as it's affectionately known.
The Central Kalahari Game Reserve covers a whopping 50000 square kilometres, making it one of Africa's largest protected areas. It's home to lions, leopards, wild dogs and, as we found out, cheetahs, along with plenty of other desert-adapted species like oryx, springbok and red hartebeest.
We camped at Deception Valley public campsite no.3 and in this video I share my thoughts on the best (and worst) campsites around Deception Valley, Sunday Pan and Leopard Pan in the CKGR.

Another fantastically made film - epic footage and very informative. My wife and I are heading to Botswana for the first time in March 2023 (our 25th wedding anniversary present to ourselves) for a month and heading to Magotho and Maun (aside many other places) so this series was very informative - thanks for the tips and pointers. It's in the Kalahari desert where Yashua/Jesus will be lowering down His New Jerusalem, somewhere after 1 May 2025. No wonder it has the biggest underground lake in the world. It's also the desert where the woman (one church) of Revelations 12 will be kept safe underground.

@@dilipkakkad2260, I prefer a proper HF radio that gives you over 10km range, but you’d have to rent them. My next Bots trip is in January 2025, but later this year I’ll be travelling through Zimbabwe 🙌🏻

Love watching these type of trips, will have to plan a similar one but might be a little difficult to plan coming from Canada, but something to worry about in the future. I love the cry of the kalahari, one of my favourite books growing up. Just was wondering if you had any similar type books you would recommend to read. Always looking to escape even if it’s in the pages of a book.
