The story about how everybody has its own version of pasta dishes in Italy and how it's "the only correct one" is so true, but also so fun (and delicious). You might disagree, but you don't know Italian food until you've eaten in small family owned restaurants in Bologna, Florence, Rome, Napoli, Sicily... My mouth is watering just thinking about it.

@Phil Stehle So your rebuttal of good Italian food is an example of crime by a restaurant? GTFO this happens in all the tourist traps across the world in one form or another. I'm not condoning it, but as a traveller you have to be aware that people will try to take advantage of you. It will happen in Rome but also in Las Vegas. Doesn't change the fact that the vast majority of small family owned restaurants in Italy are fantastic places to eat and the real guardians of the wonderful chaos that is Italian cuisine. Also the probability of this happening is directly related to the proximity to major tourist attractions- two city blocks over is a completely different story. Personally I would have called the police.
