We can't all live with like minded people, but I refuse to let it cause me to fail. I understand that it's more difficult but I'm determined. It would be great to be able to make all food choices for those I live with but it's just not my reality.

Just finished watching the last third of this. You are really amazing Chef AJ. Big thanks for all you do for us!! I decided to follow your formula today (tried, lol) I tried to eat the 4 lbs of non-starchy vegetables today and I couldn't fit it all in! Lol.. But I came close. I used cronometer and was amazed by the nutrition and low calories for how much I was stuffed today! Even though I did a workout! AND I had a ton of energy! Eating all the veggies today is making me crave more tomorrow and I can't wait. "What you eat today, you crave tomorrow". ☺️

Hi , loving all your videos , hello to everyone , great job guys. I went vegan about two years ago but was still calories restricting, so binging still ensued and binges would send me insane lol who knows what I ate but anyhow I'm finding what I do now is I don't eat after 7:30-8pm at night ( great for my digestion) and I don't start eating until 12pm and I find I've actually got an appetite for healthy foods , I'm loving veggies and potatoes , rice , I make curries, chick pea patties , potato salad and greens , I make dehydrated muesli cookies for afternoon coffee time and for the first time in my life I'm not prone to binging , I'm not dreaming and fantasising about foods I should not have, and the little weight that I have lost so far is not in danger of being undone by a binge. It's a fantastic way of life this high carb vegan lifestyle , I would recommend it to the entire world of people who are struggling with weight and food issues. Love to all❤️🍉🌺

I want to clip this at 40:30 to the end....this is pure motivation and I wish I could just post it on my page every day. Having a healthy body you feel confident and comfortable in is the treat. If you can clip this and share it , Chef AJ I would love that.

I can't get other types of Sweet Potatoes here where I live in Australia (unless trying to source them at a market etc but even then its hard to get anything different). In our local shops (fruit & vege shops AND big chain grocery stores) I can only get white brushed potatoes OR Orange Sweet potatoes. Occasionally I have seen a purple variety that turn white when cooked but they are usually around $8 per kg which is very expensive.

Where do you live? Occasionally I've seen the Okinawan sweet potatoes (also known as Hawaiian) they are white on the outside and turn deep purple when cooked on the inside, at select coles and woolworths, and local veggie shops. Seen them in Sydney, Nowra, Gold Coast, parts of WA... Though they are still around the $8 kg :(

I'm on the Gold Coast (Nerang area) and have only once seen the ones that are purple when cut open. I have been looking everywhere since that one time but alas they seem to escape me. Sigh. My local coles/woolies haven't had them before - But when I did find them it was at a local fruit/vege shop and each week I go now they just don't seem to have any anymore :( . But on the plus side I've been able to get the "normal" orange sweet potatoes at 99c per kg at the moment so I guess its not all bad. I would love the variety that they have in the states though.

What do you mean you're eating all day? 7:11 Ps: Doctor McDougall really does reply!!! :) He gave me precious info on how to put on weight for my daughter with cystic fibrosis. the thing is i cant have junk in my house cause you know, i eat like you :)) except for maple sirup in my salad and nutritional yeast with the spoon :/ anyway because having acne again is my worst fear having nuts in the house is ok for me so she eats like us but with heaps of nuts and dry sultanas which i need to test if are a trigger or not will update you. can you talk a bit about your ocd and how it affects you as an adult? mine is really tranquil since late childhood, i just have little gore obsessions when in a high building or using a knife or in the presence of any danger i just have to visualise the worst case scenarios two or three times and then im good.

if i thought about joining your program for a month would you be able to help me lose my last 10lbs i have to lose? I'm 129lbs and wanna get down to my goal weight. all year my weight has been going down, i have been following your advice to the core and was able to lose the last 30lbs. I don't drink, eat sugar, do drugs, drink caffiene and absolutely nothing processed. I also don't eat any added fats, no oils, nuts nor seeds or advacodos. I eat a big salad with lemon for breakfast followed by 1 fruit. and potatoes and veggies for lunch and supper. However, no matter how clean im trying to eat now i feel like im allows bloated and my tummy wont get any smaller nor my weight is going down anymore. What can i do to help this? If i join your program how to i get advice straight from you? I dont want to be tied to any monthly thing. I moved bck home with my fam and have to make car payments, i cant be tied to any other monthly payments right now.

zillynana I eat beans with no bloating and it has not slowed down my weight loss. The trick is to not overeat any starchy food like beans. One way to accomplish this is to eat at least 1 pound non starchy vegetables before adding starchy foods into your meal. Because non starchy vegetables have ~100 calories per pound, you can easily accomplish this with some neuroadaptation (assuming you are not used to eating "large" quantities of non starchy vegetables).

While beans do not bother me, I know from previous KZbin videos by Chef AJ that she also has problems eating beans. She is simply eliminating them from her diet at this time.
