I love how thoughtful and respectful Zane is when talking about his experiences in Morocco. I’m American but half Moroccan and tons of Western or American people I know have had bad experiences in Morocco because of the culture shock and the inability to navigate the beautiful country of Morocco and it was very refreshing listening to Zane describe his experiences. Great episode.

Ari had several successful seasons of a show on Comedy Central. He's been an international headliner for years. He's almost certainly a millionaire but he still stays in hostels when he travels. Most (semi) rich and (semi) famous people would be in a 5 star hotel when in Europe but Ari really doesn't give a crap and he genuinely just loves traveling for the sole purpose of experiencing different cultures. Also, he's a cheap joo. This is becoming one of my favorite podcasts.

When I was in Morroco I was wondering the same thing about the bland food. I thought it was because we were Westerners. It's definitely set up for tourism. Be prepared to be bombarded with merchants selling you their wares. Gets annoying. But I still bought a colored rock, a camel wallet in Fez, and a man dress for NFL Sundays at home. Jebel Toubkal is a beautiful semi difficult mountain hike.

I have never traveled, aside from family trips when I was a kid. I've never been on a plane or a train, and definitely never a boat other than to fish in a lake. I wish there was an episode that taught people like me how to actually go about starting. Like how to get a passport, how to deal with air travel, do's/don'ts and just a start to finish tutorial, because it seems kinda scary and complicated.

Naught359. Start with someplace simple. If you live in USA east coast 6hrs to Europe, west coast 10hr Paris. I would start with an English speaking country like Britain…..then add on Scotland, or Ireland. Start with 10day trip. Traveling alone no problem. Maybe better, forces you to talk to strangers….mexico is cheap and both coast beautiful. Good luck. Start now,❤❤❤❤
