The first time I saw Mark "V" McCollum was back around 1982 or 1983. It was the Comedy and Magic Club of Hermosa Beach and he was the opening act for Gallagher. I had never laughed so hard. I've seen dozens of top comics at CMCHB but he was the best. His Wizard of Oz routine with Deborah Harry as Dorothy was amazing. I still get a smile on my face whenever I hear Heart of Glass. This man is super talented!

had a chat with him in Sacramento back in the 90s. I knew all his stuff. after the show I had him laughing with my own stuff. Because of home I did open mic nights for a year. Thanks, Mark!

I had this recorded from HBO or showtime on VHS. This guy had talent, right up there with young Robin Williams. People at this show & us got to watch three great comedians!!

McCollum's set is arguably THE most entertaining part of this special. PERIOD. Especially the "Popeye" Opener! Why this wasn't the new Popeye theme I will NEVER understand. 0:21 He loves his Olive Oyl; likes spinach in a can, man... He don't like Brutus -- he's a terrible man, ya. Oh-ee-oh-ee-oh. Ay-oo-ee-oo. He came on a boat across the sea Popeye, Olive Oyl and little Swee'pea! Riding around the waves of fantasy. Popeye don't smoke with gangi weeds Olive Oyl n spinach is all he needs. Ooo-whooa-ooo, Olive Oyl. [as Popeye} Oh I love me Olive Oyl She is me only goil Ooo-wah-ooo Olive Oyl! I don't like the Oyl that comes from the ground Olive, she's the best I found.
