I made this yesterday..tried following this recipe exactly how it is told... My dal makhni became super tasty and my family loved it.. my husband's comment is " this tastes better than the restaurant dal makhni".. thank you for this wonderful recipe... Nothing can beat the satisfaction you get when your loved ones eat with so much of happiness... Thank you Chef... I must confess that I got it right only on the second try. The first time I just couldn't bring myself to add so much ghee and butter. Before I started watching RB's videos I used to make this much dal in 1Tbsp of ghee. Only after I made dal maharani and panchmenl dal ( both pretty awesome ) did I get get the courage to use the required amount of butter and ghee. And the results are outstanding. Thank you.

I made this delicacy and it turned out so delicious... Reminded me of my favorite dal bukhara. I didn't hesitate a bit in adding tonnes of butter. It's the real player in the game.

I have tried several different recipes for dal Makhani and this one is the simplest and beyond words delicious. Thank you Mr Brar for the recipes and also the culinary history you share with your viewers. Makes me a proud Hindustani and also now I have stories to share with friends :)

Okay - tried three makhani recipes in parallel over this weekend - and without a doubt the one Chef Brar shared here was the best (one of the others used rajma and different spices, the second totally different set of spices again). The authentic - "uncontaminated" version here is so delicious - we cooked this for about 6hours and then tried it the next morning - incredible. Now we will practice lachha parathas to eat with :D Thank you chef! (also for the really fun comments)

Hands down! This is one of the best Dal makhani recipes I've ever made. I always thought more the ingredients better the taste. But, this simple yet so defined recipe just makes me say cooking is an art that requires patience to achieve what your heart desires❤ I dont think I'll ever consider Dal makhani as a must order only in restaurant dish anymore.😊 Thanks, Chef.

Also, i watch your videos regularly and one of my most favourite moments is when you say "Ranveer, aapne bataya nahi" just love it! Keep up the good work, sending you lots of love. P.S. why dont you publish a recipe book, should be a travel+history book surrounding your recipes of course. Would love to come see you on your book tour. This recipe is one of the most authentic and the best. In reality dal makhni doesn't have many ingredients but the focus is to get the entire cooking process right. Very well explained by RB.. Amazing

Hi Ranveer, Would like to express my gratitude to you for being a teacher , not just teaching the skill, but secret of cooking.it takes away the struggle of mistakes and frustration one under goes of not getting things right and not having the luxury of time to redo.

You're such a sweetheart Chef... accentuating each ingredient as it goes into the pan👌👏👏 marvelous. Will try and thanks for showing how to wash this dal... usually as i learnt from my mother... was that the other softer dals & बासमती would be washed in running fresh water using fingers in circulations... for at least 4 times or till the water is clear & no more milky. Dal makhani was seldom made coz it was heavy to digest. But mom loved it... so im going to make it for her बरसी just the way you've shown here. And maybe come to you to know exact measurements for a larger gathering. Bless you chef ranveer
