We balance our bodily systems for healing by regulating our nervous system not by going on restrictive diets or taking bucket loads of supplements!!

Nearly 6 years into this illness,I am now not housebound much. I use an e bike to get around, then when I get to my destination I lay down on a carry mat that my husband carrys for me. The days I over do it. I get terrible insomnia and P.E.M but if I am gentle with activity I sleep better. So hard to do with a 5 year old son who wants me to play with him. When I look back at how far I have come. I thank God,the intensity of suffering in the first few years where near unbearable. Hundreds of times when it was so intense with crazy insomnia I thought I couldn't take anymore. Thoughts are transient and the next day I did not feel that way. It truly has been horrendous suffering. Please turn to God for strength to get through this illness and never give up hope of healing.

Thanks for another great video. You & Chelsea talked about “graded exercise therapy” (done “wrong”) helping. I heard this phrase in another of your videos, and you do explain there also that the increase was very small each time. I’ve also improved (not recovered *yet*) by very gradually increasing exercise & cognitive activity. But I had a crash earlier from a exercise program prescribed by a kinesiologist. An increase that would be fine for a healthy person is harmful for us. The phrase “gradual exercise therapy” or even “infinitesimal exercise therapy” is more descriptive.

Hi Raelen, thank you for this. What stood out to me that I would like to find out more about is what you said in the beginning - visualizing where we want to be. I always forget about this. You have mentioned in the past about a vision board and I don't know how to make something like this or what do you visualize? I have lived with CFS for 18 yrs and my recovery is moving along quicker now that I am watching your channel and a couple others. Hearing these help me so much. Would you consider doing a video teaching about the visualizing along with making a vision board? ~Dee

I've been researching about this for awhile. I've gotten quite a few potential leads, and misleads, some that counterpoise each other in logical assessment. I've about came up with the idea, as a way to potentially start on the road to recovery might be to fix the intestinal microbiome. I believe the start of this should be getting butyrate, and butyrate production working in the large intestine (insoluble fiber and other stuff) then work on fixing the intestinal microbiome ( with anti-microbials and anti-virals to fix stuff which maybe causing intestinal permability (stuff like candida overgrowth, or IBS, etc.) Then Re-boot the gut microbiome after this. I believe it's steps and stages in a functional order that's needed, or else a bad gut microbiome might be killing all the good things someone might be putting in it to try to fix it. Meaning stuff that people take to try to fix this problem might not be the wrong stuff as they might end up surmising, it's just that they may not have did their prerequisites (precursors). Butyrate, Butyrate production, and anti-microbials and anti-virals. Pau d'arco (I believe) would be a good one of these.

I want to share a story one day - I am not as bad off as most of the people on your channel. I am feeling awful, but still have the ability work and often have lots of energy. Just have lots of post-viral symptoms. trying to find some relief.

Sleep was an issue for me too. But i noticed that the less I cared the better I slept somehow. Even if I couldn't I accepted it and just rest my body. Also taking 5htp helped and drinking herbeal teas really made my sleep better: chamomile, mint, fennel seed, fresh ginger tea (daytime) and especially ayurvedic teas. Ayurveda herbs really helped manage cfs and sleep. Most of the days I sleep trough the day.

Yes combination of one teaspoon of fennel seeds, pinch of ceylon cinnamon powder and a pinch of nutmeg. I drank this before bed. It knocked me out. But maybe get some advise first before drinking it. We people with cfs could be sensitive even to the normal herbs. During the day fresh ginger and lemon tea (not nightime. Some people find it stimulating) What my routine was. I used this brand called. Sana Neuro Seroplus. I am so sensitive to supplements but I could tolerate this one. It enhances serotonin. I woukd use it in the morning only half the dose for few days and stopped (because I hate to be dependend on supplements) and then I would drink the fennel seeds mix tea. And it has never left me. Almost everyday I get solid 7/8 hours a sleep. But of course it didnt refresh my sleep completely.

Sleep is a huge issue for me. I have put into place everything I can think of. You both said you did take a medication for sleep. Can you share with me what that med was? I think if I can just get a few decent nights then I can begin to reset my sleep.

Doing guided meditation with Ally Boothroyd on KZbin has really helped my sleep. I listen to her three times a day which is supporting my nervous system throughout the day so I avoid that awful “ tired and wired “ feeling when you want to go to sleep. Hope this helps 🥰
