I'm somewhat new to this band (only got into them after the first song from this album was posted), and I've seen a lot of "this band has turned to shit" comments. This entire album all the way through is fucking incredible, and yes just as good as the earlier albums. I guess the difference is that being a new fan means I don't have any nostalgia connections to any of their music.. But yea, objectively, there's nothing at all disappointing about this album, fucking love it!

Frankie Dingleberry ive been listening to Chelsea Grin since recreant. I loved Desolation of Eden but now it bores me and so does Self Inflicted a little. These two deluxe songs are better than the entire album and I hope they return to either a My Damnation, Evolve, or Ashes to Ashes sound, because something about Self Inflicted really turns me away from it. Love all their music though.

TheMixtureGaming I can totally understand why, I can hear how every song sounds pretty similar. But to me, the formula works, nothing wrong with it. Scratching and Screaming has to be my favorite, next to Skin Deep, and Life Sentences specifically for the guitar :p

Frankie Dingleberry Skin Deep was so much better in the single version, guitars had a much better attack. I dig the album, Broken Bonds and Say Goodbye are my favorites and it has some hitters but I cant listen to it straight through as voluntarily as I can with their three previous releases. I saw them at warped and bought the album artwork shirt and shit. Theres just people that blindly hate because its 1. Chelsea grin 2. Yes somewhat generic and 3. On rise now.
