As a Chelsea fan I think it's a combination of both average managing and average players in the mix like cucurella for example. And average managing when you think about the masterclass that chalobah and silva put up in defense against city but disasi and badiashile (who have both shown to be in poor form) are selected ahead of them in an important game when we're fighting for Europe. Another problem that comes down to average managing is the midfield structure that really doesn't make sense with Gallagher playing as a 10 or sometimes even on the wing when there are better players suited for those positions. On top of that coaching when it comes to defending set pieces seems to be non-existent, I can't even count the times we've thrown games away that we were winning by conceding from set pieces. I honestly can't see poch lasting another season here

Also, the useless medical staff aren’t consistent with what they say when they release club statements about injury time, and why the injury happened. The last time i remember knowing what happened is when Levi Colwill got injured DURING WARMUPS, which is another thing i don’t even want to talk about. But the constant rotation of the back line is my biggest critique. we haven’t played the same back line consistently for more than three games. The back line, especially with thiago silva need to be lead more, and communicate. The only common player we had in the back line was mali gusto who has flourished alongside cole palmer. That just shows what consistent playing time does for a player (jackson is another case i don’t even want to mention.) Finally, the midfield isn’t something to complain about, caicedo has been consistent and playing well, enzo brings crestivity (although sometimes too “creative”), and conor gallagher. Gallagher brings passion and energy, but he doesn’t really fit in the 10 role, he can press, and brings the occasional goal or assist, but not much of an attacking or defensive threat because he plays out of his position all season ( i think he should be a backup to enzo and moi). the 10 position should be played with a playmaker like Nkunku who we sadly haven’t seen much of, but when he played, he brings the connection from offense to midfield/defense. Also, Petro is the goat gk.

Our ownership structure is our biggest flaw. Their ineptitude and lack of football people has led to our bloated squad of wingers when we don’t even have a prolific striker. We also cleared out the old guard too quickly with only Tiago silva having some connection to the recent past. Now we are cluttered with a squad full of overplayed inexperienced young players. I think we will have a decade of banter like manu has had and still endure
@Feyrex25 күн бұрын
this is true but to be fair for us to be back to the top 4 it is alot more simple than you think its just relying on the clueless owners to make these decisions. 1 medical team revamp. 2 get a new manager either tuchel back or anorim or someone we havent seen before. 3 sell fringe like lukaku or gallagher. 4 buy a prolific striker. honestly our squad has talent almost as much as spurs we jut need to play better football and finish chances with a prolific 9

People want to hate on Poch for only winning in France. Most top managers cant win the UCL. Its all random and luck based. Are you telling me that if he was at United where I can guarantee he wouldn't win the league, that it would be more impresseive than winning the French League? You cant be overly critical of certain managers when City and Madrid exist. Yes Ligue 1 is a step down but he wouldn't have won the Prem with any team not named City. He got Spurs to a UCL final. To say its not impressive to only win the French League when there so many factors that go into winning a trophy and so manager "top" managers arent winnning trophies because of Bayern, City, Madrid, and Inter is not fair. Trophies arent everything on a small scale because football moves too fast, the luck of the draw is impossible to manage, and being able to sustain an entire season in the Prem without the perfect 11 that City have is nearly impossible. Large scale, yes many trophies can define a dynasty and a legacy. But when Poch is bouncing from club to club in a period where the only respected leagues are dominated by 1 team in that league isnt fair. Conte and Mourinho are also getting sacked from their jobs with all due respect. And Ancellotti was lucky to go from Everton to inheriting an elite Madrid team that carries him the way Zidane was carried. Regardless of the league, PSG are still a good team hence why Tuchel got them to a UCL final and hence why Mbappe is still considering a top 3 player in the world. The same way Bayern, Madrid, and City dominate their leagues so much is the way PSG do, but those teams get respected, and more often than not those teams' managers get respected, hence why you see nobodies such as Flick and Nagelsmann getting linked to every job in the world. Bayern suck up players and coaches from all throughout the Bundesliga. If Nagelsmann was still at Leipzig during the time he was at Bayern no one would want him. At least Tuchel was at Dortmund. So dont disrespect Poch for doing exactly what everyone else is doing. And also people want to criticize Chelsea the most when they lose to the best teams in the league which isnt fair. The thing that impatient fans need to accept is that its only been 1 season under Poch. The players are young and far from their prime. Yes Chelsea over spent although most club are being priced out because of the current market for young players, but they at least bought players with potential. Maybe not all of them were smart buys but thats normal. Yes Chelsea couldve spent crazy money on top talent but what happens if they flop and also have egos that ruin the club? Poch can nurture these young unknown talents into an elite team. Tuchel is a manager that needs stars to win. And Potter was way out of his depth. So Chelsea and football fans need to accept that this is a long term project the way Arteta was given time. Results wont come over night and probably not for a few years. Also Chelsea have already spent so much so you cant abandon the project and start buying superstars. Plus sacking Poch and bringing any other coach is not gonna slingshot the team into top 4. At the end of the day Poch is not the problem. The team is. But its not to say the team is bad. Just like Arsenal when they were transitioning a LWB to RW and he turned out to be one of the world's best players, you have to just be patient with the young players until their time comes. This is why I hate fans of not only the big 6 but all big clubs around Europe. You dont understand the sport on a deep level, you know nothing outside your own club, everything is about toxic rivalries and banter, and you feel entitled to success and trophies when football is an ever changing landscape that isnt solely bound to the hierarchy of 20 years ago. If you were a real fan and cared about Chelsea you'd get on board and ride out the tough years and then reap the benefits of these young talents. Now yes while many clubs have complained about constantly sacking managers there is such thing as hiring the right manager and then getting behind them. And there is such thing as hiring the wrong manager. If you want to talk about a manager that has blown tons of money on mediocre players and stripped the team of all its experience and talent and ruin the image of the club you should look at Ten Hag who has been given plenty of time and has not given the the club any foundation to build upon. Be grateful you have a top proven manager in Poch that is known for developing top young talent. Realistically no other manager in Europe is gonna compare to Pep, not even Xabi Alonso who wouldnt come to close to what he's doing with Leverkusen in the Prem, with all due respect. And honestly all managers are overrated. They dont have as much influence as they are given credit for. It all comes down to the players on the pitch and the players must also take the responsiblity and the blame. Not to say there isnt bad managers, but isnt great managers that carry a team. Pep is lucky to have only ever managed elite squads. So dont start saying Poch isnt a top manager when like most he'll never be given the luxury of managing City, Madrid, or Bayern.

My opinion as a Chelsea Fan: You mention the horrible business of Chelsea getting rid of class players for small fees like it was their choice? Lukaku openly disrespected the entire club, manager, and fans. Rudiger, Kante, Mount, Havertz, Christensen, etc. left because the club quite literally got Frozen, we couldn't offer new contracts, we had one of the greatest owners in history of football, along side one of the greatest sporting directors in football history kicked out of the club😂, this is an anomaly, the entire club literally got wiped. You cant bring in that champions league final as a comparison to poch, the circumstances couldnt be any further from similar. The reason we won that UCL in general was because Kante had one of the greatest champions league campaigns in the history of the competiton, he dropped 5/6 MOTM's in the last 6 games including the Final and both Semi finals. Pairing with the fact Pep fielded a side with no CDM, 5 attackers. Why are we acting like this is a normal situation and a normal environment for a manager to come into and perform? This was never going to be the case. If anything Poch is doing a good job. Statistics have been knit picked, so let me show some counter stats: Chelsea 22/23: 12th Place, 11 Wins, 38 Goals scored, 44 Points, 2/2 losses to bottom of the league. Chelsea 23/24 (NOT FINISHED): 9th Place with 2 games in hand on 8th, 13 Wins so far, 61 Goals scored so far, 47 points (6 games left), only lost 1 pl game in the last 9, and it was to in my opinion the best team in the league. We are scoring double the amount of goals (attack has been majorly improved and has very high potential if we get a striker), and Poch has coached 3 squads that have conceded the least goals in that premier league season. We're improving. and if we sack and get a new manager it means we are restarting AGAIN, so painful. Logically, the opinion that it's Poch's fault makes 0 sense. Chelsea have had 5 managers in the past 2 seasons. This showing that the factor (being the manager) has been changed, not once, not twice, 5 times, including the manager who won us the ucl the season before (he also "failed"). If you still look at that and think changing the manager is the factor that will be the solution then you have a pea sized brain respectfully. (New = inconsistent (changed), Old = Consistent (been there for time))Imagine your a manager going to a club that has a a New manager, New sporting directors, New coaching staff (5 times in the past 2 seasons), New player base, New core players, New captains. And then ontop of that, your captain and vice captain have both been injured for 95% of the season, and 7/11 of your starting 11 are injured. And your EXPECTED to be dropping consistent good performances? thats not only ridiculous, its idiotic 😂 This is one of the single hardest managerial jobs in the history of the premier league, cut some slack.

You really think anyone is gonna read this para that shits their mind
@inaayat920026 күн бұрын
Of course it's not entirely pochs fault but there have been plenty of situations where he could have done things much better for example our main 3 midfielders haven't had any long term injuries and pochs has had ample time to find a solution to our midfield situation being so easy to bypass but he insists on playing the same way with Gallagher in the no. 10 when like we saw against Everton, he would play much better in the pivot alongside someone else. Another thing about poch is the managerial mistakes he's been making that's been costing us games and to give an example let's look at the subs that he made against city in the 1-1 draw, he takes off palmer and Jackson, brings on a young inexperienced midfielder and another defender, hoping to sit back and absorb pressure against the best attacking team in the league while knowing we don't do well when we absorb pressure. At the same time he took away our greatest asset in the game which was our counter attack. Still a draw against city given our circumstances is still a good result but how many Top managers get crucial things wrong as often as this. Now obviously we're playing better than last season like you said but that can't be the standard that we set because last season we had 4 different people in charge with players that didn't even want to play for the club anymore. This season poch has had complete control. Even if you speak about injuries, the players that have been injured have been consistently injured throughout the season with the exception of thiago silva and gusto, so pochs should be able to adapt to their absences. And saying players need to time to gel etc. is all nonsense, these are professional footballers, go find your best Sunday league player and an average prem player is miles better. So learning how to play with other footballers shouldn't be an excuse. The system is not working for the players and this is mainly in the midfield which is the most important part of the pitch, and the system come from the manager.
