The breaking news is that Chelsea Football Club have now turned our attentions to Ivan Toney who was said to have agreed a deal with Saudi Pro League side Al - Ahli, however what with the stalling over a Victor Osimhen deal, could this be a perfect option?

Jackson is good but in the Wolves game, he had a break away that he should have buried but he got bumped off his run by the slighted contact from the defender, and did not even get a shot off. Last year, my criticism of Jackson was that he was just too physically weak, did not have a mature athlete’s body. He eventually will grow into a mature body but he’s still not there. Toney is a full grown man, very strong. I don’t know if he has Jackson’s speed, but I back him NOT to be easily bumped off the ball at critical times.

I’m a Chelsea fan and i swear a lot of Chelsea fans aren’t looking at player management. We already have atleast 2 really solid players in each position (mostly the attacking third). You have players like Nkuku or Felix or Neto, or Palmer, or noni and mudryk that are going to be sitting out of the starting line up. We already have too many good attacking players, which will make up for the lack of a clinical striker

I agree. I actually would like this a lot. Jackson and Toney would compete for who's starting in PL. With Osimhen, I assume he'd be #1. I like Jackson, but think we do need a quality backup or competitor. Although, even with that, I'm not sure now that we have both Felix and Nkunku able to play in that spot. But I like Toney and think he might just be the perfect add. Also, he's very different from Jackson, so can play them against different types of opponents.

Jackson’s attributes are special because they are coming through the middle. Put those skills out wide and he’s a middle of the pack player. I think him and Toney would battle for that starting spot up top, and eventually I see Jackson winning. But unlike Osimhen it’s not detrimental if Jackson ends up starting. Like I commented under the last Video I‘m just not sure about a lot of things about Osihmen (attitude, injuries, PL Level) I think that Transfer for Toney would really make sense. Everyone says Toney had a bad season last year, but he himself looked pretty decent every time I watched him (Brentford looked meh overall). He had a freer role and was eager to create. I feel like his presence helped Maupay kick on a little more for a spell as well. Great player

Not even sure if we need a new striker at this point, if Jackson can be the focal point we can get goals from other areas of the pitch. Joao, Palmer, Neto, Madueke, Nkunku can all score goals, Jackson just needs to keep making runs, getting the ball up the pitch, taking it on the turn and knocking it through for the other runners.

Osimhen would work for us, and he's a fit for this league, he has great attributes, pace, strength, class, height. With that said, we've killed prime strikers in the past. Higuain, Torres, Schev, Falcao. Pato, Lukaku..most from Italy. Too risky at 500k a week. Not easy to score 20 prem goals a season for Brentford. I wouldnt put money on many world class strikers to do that. Toney is a solid choice.

I would much rather have Ivan over Victor. Premier league tested, been professional longer. Tad bit older, so Jackson can learn from him. Can’t really think if he was or is as injury prone as Victor. Would cost less on the transfer fee, and I’m sure, have ridiculous wage demands. Sign them to a 3+1 year deal. Not to mention that he doesn’t have to move very far. I think he would hold up in the box a lot better than Victor would. Seems like better business to go for Ivan in my opinion. PS I hope Axel is on his way out so we could potentially keep Trevor. This potential deal makes sense competition for Jackson. Also a little like the opposite, Ivan Toney is composed and good in the air the two weakest parts of Nico Jax's game. Different options up front. A good age, prem experience, a point to prove and back up penalty taker. I have long seen Toney as the fall back option this summer for a few clubs because he is available. Ivan over Victor. Jackson Toney and Marc Giui would be great options. A keeper and bring back Chalobah. Suddenly there is a cautious optimism for this season

I don't really like the Toney transfer. He's 28, he probably won't get any better. His stats aren't that exiting if you look at non-penalty goals. In Brentford he played in a different system as well - more counter-atacking. He won't get it in Chelsea, where we want to play possession football. I think it's also worth to remember that at the start of the transfer window he preferred to go to Arsenal than Chelsea. Osimhen, on the other hand, has been a Chelsea fan since he was a kid. Napoli has just accepted a 65mln bill from the Saudis so he won't be that expensive. Personally i hope that the Tony rumour is just a trick to make Osimhen lower his wage expectations.

Honestly I think it's stupid, as long as he's not getting over 100k a week, because we where telling osimhen we wouldn't give him the 230k a week he earns at napoli, but bid for a player who's just been offered 300k a week, as long as he's willing to take less money.
