Yay love this! What do you know when you’re out and about in regards to naps? Also do you wake her up at an exact hour every morning and kind of follow a schedule throughout the day?

Jess Beth im glad! Honestly with covid we don’t really go out much. If we do I have a portable sound machine that sometimes helps & I always have my stroller with the bassinet attachment if she needs to nap and she’s not napping in the car/car seat. As of right now we don’t have a set schedule of when she wakes up and goes down bc I’m not back at work yet. But generally we’re up around 8 & she goes to sleep between 8:30 & 9. When she was a newborn she went down later (around 10:30) bc that’s just what worked then.

Sleep training a newborn can result in loss of milk supply unless you pump throughout the night about every 3-4 hours. Also, not feeding little ones for so long is not recommended for optimal growth because breastmilk is very quickly digested and absorbed and they need it every few hours.

Please please make the follow up video you mentioned about naps! My baby is 9/10 weeks, we had a great thing going with the same eat, play, sleep schedule but it only lasted about five days and then all of a sudden he refuses to nap! For the most part he is still sleeping well at night but I cannot get him to nap during the day. Even if I let him fall asleep on me or in the wrap they’re still only twenty minute naps. And his wake windows are short he just wants to be constantly nursing 😣

Same with my son! He is currently 7 weeks, almost 8, and his naps are very short. 15 minutes or 20 at the most when I lay him down in his crib. If he naps on us, he was sleep at an hour in a half. We swaddle him but as soon as he notices he's in his crib, he back awake.

Wow I love this, new sub here. You offer practical abs useful advice and tips and I swear from an everyday mom I’m finding this more helpful than the experts, but I love them too but sometimes all you need is a non expert who speak from experience and trial and error and intuition. Thanks for the app I’m terrible with schedules. I’ll even be watching this twice that’s how useful it is

Tanya Lainez i have! She liked that one too but I like the material of the love to dream one more plus to be honest the weight in the chest kinda made me nervous. I think all in all she likes the love to dream one more anyway

So it's OK not to wake baby up during night time for feeds?
@roselynvargas844

I found that if I didn’t wake my baby up to feed him his feedings time became longer and he would get up only 2-4 hrs then just cry when he was hungry at night feed him about 2ounces and he was right back asleep

Thank you for this great Video! Your method is a real inspiration for me that I will try from today! But when do the awake time start? Right after the nap or after the feeding? Because breastfeeding and changing sometimes takes up to 60 minutes😅
@Imchelseah
@Imchelseah 4 жыл бұрын
Judith Wieser thats a common question! Its suppose to start the moment you take them out of their cribs/wake up. If the baby is awake while nursing then i feel like it should be fine to start the timer when they wake even if it takes that long to feed. I would probably try to keep them up an additional 10-15 min and then put them down. If they fall asleep while nursing then start the timer after you’re done nursing. But that’s just my opinion bc my baby nursed quickly :)

Please do the follow up video on naps. Was there a period of time when your baby was learning to self soothe? Or did she immediately self soothe from day one when you implemented your tips?

Thank you for sharing your experience through baby sleep. while i think sleep schedule is supper important for keeping parent life on check. I also think that all the sleep course out there are supper overpriced. Thanks for letting me know that it is still possible with out taking those course.

Hey thank you we already do all these things. Do you wake her up in the middle of the night for a dream feeding or she sleeps all 8 hrs straight without your involvement? Do you pump in the middle of the night or also sleep 8 hrs straight? Our baby goes down around 6:30-7:30pm and can go for 6 hr stretches on good days. I would like to push to 8 hrs. I started dream feeding him at 9pm when I go to bed and at 2pm when I wake up naturally. Do you have any recommendations on pushing it to 8 hrs without my involvement? Should I stop dream feeding him 2 times? Also do you feed her any extra when she goes to sleep at night, such as a bottle on top of breastfeeding? Also since she goes to bed around 8-9 pm does she nap in early evening and naturally wake up? Because if our baby goes down at 6:30-7:30pm he can sleep for 6 hrs. But I would like him to sleep till 6 am somehow. Recommendations?

Hi! She’s two now so this is a little hard to remember but I only followed wake windows which helped keeping her up an appropriate amount of time and napping an appropriate amount of time so she could sleep longer at night. I never did a dream feed just had a consistent night time routine and made sure to feed her right before bed 😊

A newborn or two month old cannot and SHOULD NOT sleep through the night. Their bodies NEED nourishment at all hours. 🙄

Had 4 kids. All slept through the night before 4 mos. I do not understand the drama. Not one of my kids had formula so that could be key… good luck new mommies!! PS don’t sexualize your children or expose them to drag queens. Xoxo 🇺🇸
