I have 1yo daughter .. she is allways at 19:00-20:00 in the Bett . But , she wakes up every night about 1:00 or 2:00 and she is restless and won't sleep and I have to hold her in my hands about half hour or one hour . Sometimes few times in the night and I am very tired .. where ist my mistake ? She is not hungry , because I give to her every time a milk , she eat that but ist not better . Whats wrong ? She needs to go so early in Bett because she wakes up every day at 06:00 or 07:00 . She needs to go in Kindergarten . And sleep just one time , at 12:00 .

In my neuroscience class we were taught that white noise isn't good for the brain, especially at night. During the day it may be ok but definitely not at night because the brain needs quiet to clear it's clutter and white noise blocks this process.

First time mama here with a 2 week old, and I just wanted to say that all of you are doing great and the fact that you’re watching this video proves that! Try everything you can until something works, and if that changes, just try something else until that works too! PLEASE remember to take care of YOUR needs as often as possible. If there are dishes in the sink but you can sneak in a 20 minute nap while your baby sleeps, please do that! Take a hot shower, massage your feet, lay in silence, listen to music… come back to a place of neutrality and peace within yourself. We will never get these moments back and the next chapters will always have their adjustments. Trust yourself and great advice like this video. You are doing great!!

Omg my mother in law kept waking the baby up when she came over because she thought the baby needed to get fed and wanted to play with the baby. I told her she shouldn't wake the baby up forcefully but she still went on and woke her up... Of course that night became a nightmare. Baby was fussy the entire night because she was awake for so long throughout the day 😐 Like I just don't understand why people wouldn't listen to the baby's parents. It's not like they're going to be responsible for the baby during the difficult moments.

I guess I'm doing something right. My 15 week old has been sleeping through the night, for the most part. We get ready and are in bed around 10:30. The earliest he wakes is 6 but often doesn't wake until 7 or 8. He has very clear sleep cues and he goes for naps in his crib, in close to the same environment as at night. It's very dark and we have an air purifier that makes great white noise. I got very lucky, he's such a good sleeper!
@larissatorres86243 жыл бұрын
Do you have to wake up your baby during the night to feed him/her ?
@jennibee23073 жыл бұрын
@@larissatorres8624 I let him sleep. He eats right before we go to sleep and then when he wakes up. Today he woke up at 6:30. He's a super happy baby so a lot of the time he'll let out a cute little scream like I'm ready for food now Mom! He eats every 2.5 - 3 hours during the day. When he was a newborn he would wake up every few hours but it got longer and longer as he got older. I double checked with the pediatrician at his last appointment and he said as long as he's gaining weight, let him sleep. 😀

Thanks for the video, unfortunately some of the these points including the ‘tiredness’ phase’ or tiredness signs stuff doesn’t really resolve a lot of the issues we’re facing. They also seem to conflict with advice around babies hungry signs. We recognise yawns, playing with ears and rubbing eyes etc as signs of tiredness, that and being super quiet and disinterested, but as soon as we put him down and within 2-5 mins later he’s fussy again. We let him wriggle around in the hope he’ll drop off to sleep, but he gets himself into such a tizzy. The cycle repeats

2nd comment. The late bed time too. I just started realizing this last night. Was analyzing my baby tracker to get an idea for wake times and nap times. My baby girl is still averaging 30-40 minutes wake time(7 weeks but born 10 days early). And her naps get shorter until about 11oclock. Then it's 4 -5 hours of sleep then 3-3.5 hrs. Some of these vary from baby to baby. Concerning early bedtime: without forcing him to sleep, after the first month I started giving him regular baths at 8:30 pm, then a feed and then bedtime. He would immediately fall asleep afterwards and sleep for at least 4 hours, followed by a quick feed and change and another 4 hour sleep. Worked out pretty good at night. Around 2 months he started sleeping for 5-6 hours after bath time, followed by 2-3 hours after that.

She sleeps 8-9 hours straight at night and wakes up for a feed and then goes back to sleep. We don’t rock her for hours anymore so my husband and I got our nights back. Naps are still tricky but its gotten so much easier putting her down. I just try to follow her wake windows and keep notes on her naps. I always put her to bed drowsy while awake. Any chance I can get some more information on the noisy sleeping? My baby is not a newborn anymore, 4 months now, but cries often in his sleep, especially night time sleep. Some times he will cry 6 times in one night. I have the feeling he's not awake but am never 100% sure. He doesn't respond to my voice, face or me stroking him at that point and he never seems to get to a fully awake state or settle on his own again. Is there a time limit to the waiting? I've tried waiting it out a few times but as I said he doesn't wake or stop crying and I start getting the feeling that I need to do something.

Oh man 😂 my parents told me to keep the baby up during the day to fix her internal clock…. Man, those days were rough. Over tired babies don’t sleep well. 😂 I go off of her cues now. She used to wake up every 30 minutes-2 hours. When I switched to just going off of her cues it slowly improved… Started with 3-5 hour stretches. Now it’s around 7 hour stretches. Last night she had her first 11 hour night! She’s gonna be 3 months old on the 13th :)

Do you feed her on her 11 hour night? I’m scared my baby is going to starve while sleeping
@shegardenssometimes3 жыл бұрын
@@Dokas80s No, I don’t. But I feel okay doing that because she is a good weight. She’s also just about 3 months now. When she wakes up she’s in a good mood and she has a big 7 oz bottle. And that’s good for her and it works for us so your baby might be different! But also during the first month I was definitely waking up every two or three hours with her to make sure she ate. Also my baby was/is very vocal when she has a need. When in doubt, you can totally check with the pediatrician 😄

I have it on my phone and he sleeps to the waterfall noise. New mom here learning as I go. Yes my baby’s bed time is usually 11:30 but he can go to bed about 10 hes 2 months old rn.

Our problem has been that when our 8 week old starts showing sleep cues, he gets mad when we take him to bed. We have to hold him and hope he goes to sleep, but too often he just keeps himself awake until the point of being overtired. Any advice on how to get him to be ok with being put down?

Oh thank you!!! I’m currently trying to calm my overtired 2 week old. I do keep getting mixed advice on wether babies should be put in a dark room or stay out in a loud bright environment during the day. Also my baby nurses for 30 minutes so basically he has a 15 minute wake window before he needs to go back to sleep?

My 3 month old only takes 45 minute naps and wakes up every 2 hours at night still. So when you say to leave them for a bit when they start to fuss, how long do you suggest? How long will he cry for before I know he is just up and needs me versus him just fussing between sleep cycles?
@Xebeth3 жыл бұрын
For me ( my son is 9 weeks old ) i was picking him up as soon as i heard something and i decided to change that about 3 weeks ago, i will put him to bed at around 20h30 and if i hear him cry i will let him cry for about 5 minutes, if he is still crying after 5 minutes i will pick him up and try to sooth him back to sleep for another 5 minutes ( wich usually he does go back to sleep for another 2 hours ) if he is still crying at this point then i will go and change his diaper, feed him but he will rarely stay awake more than 40 minutes at night. I try not to stimulate him at night ( keep light turned off, try not to talk to him as much as i would during the day, do not attemp to play with him ). I concider myself very lucky because as soon as i started doing this he is sleeping more and more at night he now sleeps from 20h30 or 21h until 0030 and goes back to sleep from 01h00 until around 5 and 7.

I guess i have good instinct. My twins have separate beds, nothing in them do they are not distracted, we turn off the light late in the evening, we dont pick them up as soon as they open their mouth to cry, just stay beside the bed and wait to see if there is such a need, they sleep very well at night since they were 4 weeks old. :)

It all depends on their movements and their call outs. If they start to call out frequently and it increases in volume and they are moving around then they need your help. But if they call out then pause or it stays the same and then gradually reduces then they are just needing some time. Hope that makes a bit more sense

I never had any issues getting my 2 boys to sleep when they were new born, but I see my sister in law make many of these mistakes. She relies on my niece falling asleep while driving or by fighting with an over tired baby until she gives in

Your video is very helpful. I was too quick to pick up my baby in REM sleep. She sleeps through the night but during day time she does short duration naps and wakes ups between 30 to 40min sleep cycle. She cries a lot between sleep cycle . I am using pacifier to sooth her if she doesn't settle within 10min. She cries with close eyes which assures she is sleepy. Not sure if I am doing the right thing offering pacifier. Regardless she Doesn't fall asleep. She is 7 weeks old and having more awake hours every day between 12.00 pm to 9.00 pm. Can you help with any tips/changes to make her fall asleep during day time? Thank you

Pro tip: for parents who use pure white noise for their babies, I highly recommend you listen to an episode of The Huberman Lab podcast called “The Science of Hearing, Balance, and Accelerated Learning” by Dr. Andrew Huberman. There is research showing how pure white noise can be detrimental to infants’ vestibular (inner ear/balance) development. He cites the research so I’m not going to but he does recommend that brown or pink noise (or sounds like a fan/air purifier) are better alternatives than white noise. This is essentially because white noise (like white light) is a combination of all the different sound waves and can cause sorting confusion for an infant’s undeveloped inner ear. Anything that has minor modulations (like rain or running water sounds) will still mask peripheral noise and help your infant sleep better without causing potential detriment to their vestibular system! Better sleep for all! (And p.s. - white noise is safe for teenagers and adults and can actually be used to help hone focus!)

At the right time, 10 weeks and son here, it’s 3am, breastfeeding and baby is sleeping again. Since few days he wakes up suddenly and screams with big eyes and tense/uptight hands/arms. Have to calm him. It seems like he has a nightmare or he is scared of something. Also happen from a loud noice while he sleeps. It’s in that moro reflex it seems. Couldn’t found something in A book. I think he is in a phase right now. He came 2 weeks before birthdate, so he is actual in that 8 week phase I think. I still have struggle to identify the move of the arms and legs in a happy mood or he gets tired or hungry. When he I gets hungry he makes little fist and push arms, and 1 leg. But when looking at Mobile moves almost the same, even if he is tired. Thanks als always. Really love your vids. 🇩🇪❤️
@EmmaHubbard3 жыл бұрын
Hi Jana, sounds like you are working out his cues. It does take a while to work them out and as they get older they change slightly! I would also assume the loud noise is activating the startle reflex (moro reflex) - a white noise machine and swaddle helps to dampen the moro reflex. Hope this video was helpful😁
