These garage videos are sick dude, there's something about watching a pro drifter work on his own projects. This is what makes the internet priceless, for enthusiasts like me at least

This is old I know but can you recall what happened at 28:10 into the video ? You don’t seem to use the nut to tighten the two halves together. I know it’s nearly impossible for them to split apart so I’m just curious have you been taking this shortcut on your missiles for a while ? Can’t imagine you’ve had any issues 🥸
@mikeyiswhatsup7 жыл бұрын
Great video! But why didn't you align balance marks while putting drive shafts back together?
@chelseadenofa7 жыл бұрын
Hah. Thats a good point. I didn't even think that was a thing with these because of the center bearing. I figured both were balanced individually. Is that actually a thing?
@mikeyiswhatsup7 жыл бұрын
Yeah, there should be a little white hash mark on each side. Had a bunch of drive shaft issues and someone pointed it out to me that it possibly could be unbalanced, shouldn't do anything to serious, but just throwing it out there!
@mikeyiswhatsup7 жыл бұрын
And yes each half is balanced individually but to make one whole balanced shafted they would need to be aligned according.

Hi man awesome videos and awesome cars !!! Keep this good videos going, I would like to see your s52 swap with the m50 manifold, I did this on my m3 but I think I didn’t hook up everything in the right spots , thank you very much man .
@messedupA_A_ron7 жыл бұрын
so was that a duel mass flywheel that it originally had, that could have been slipping and then did you keep that or did you get a single mass to throw in there. Subaru 's were like that the last of LGT's (MY05 to MY09) had them (duel mass) and people would just switch them to single mass from a WRX. if that is a similar thing with BMW what what would the single mass flywheel come on or is it only an aftermarket option only?
@chelseadenofa7 жыл бұрын
+Aaron Hakes yea totally could have been. They had single masses that were OEM. But aftermarket is way more cost effective

What about balancing the drive shaft ?When I did my m50 stroker swap in my 318i I used the stock rear section for the original Dif & the shorter front section of a 325i drive shaft to mate the drive train . Because I used two different section to make one drive shaft it was all out of balance & when I would drive the car around I would get noticeable vibration & hum around 3k rpm
@chelseadenofa7 жыл бұрын
This driveshaft was an OG one, its not 2 different ones. I don't get any hum, besides from the solid trans mounts.

@jonesz317 жыл бұрын
Yo, could you go over how you got the semi trailing arm setup to handle decently and not obliterate all your tires in one lap? Ive got a z31 with a similar setup and cant figure out how to fix it. Even at a decent ride height, I'm blowing thru tires and the rear end handles like shit with crazy negative camber and toe in. Just curious what you did with those spacers and how it helped.
@chelseadenofa7 жыл бұрын
Its all about the geometry. Try running the car at stock ride height in the rear, See if it works better. THEN if it does, space the subframe mounting points up as high as you can so that they car has the same geometry as stock, but at the ride height you want.

Hey Chelsea, i know youre a busy man but whats the torque limitations of the ZF 5 speeds. Looking at doing a 350hpish turbo 325i but all the hitler supporters on bmw forums wont answer or just talk trash about drifting rather than answer my questions. Cheers
@driftfinatic7 жыл бұрын
I wouldnt be going turbo but we only drift big road courses here in New Zealand. And no one slides Bmw over here so info is scarce
@chelseadenofa7 жыл бұрын
The ZF from the 328 and m3 hold about 600ftlbs at the wheels before they have any issues at all. Depending on the grip you have.
@driftfinatic7 жыл бұрын
