Shavon Freeman My Friend, you need to decide that you want to change and grow Forgiving yourself every time you fall into temptation. but knowing that it will get easier to say "NO" to sin. God has Given you the Power to Overcome the World. "Greater is the he who is in you, than he who is in the world" Like Chelsey said Jesus has already saved us. First he Justified us Then he Sanctified us. so you need to walk in the Sanctification Phase and Believe. the main thing that delays it is when you doubt its happening. In Summary: My Friend, you need to decide that you want to change and grow Forgiving yourself every time you fall into temptation. but knowing that it will get easier to say "NO" to sin. Proverbs 24:16 Ephesians 4:24 Listen to this video consistently there are a lot of things Chelsey Mentions that are helpful. for your Question :D I Hope You Have A Good Day. I had this issue on my heart for a while, I often profess to be a Christian but I'm indistinguishable from nonbelievers in public. Additionally, I don't actively "Go and Make Disciples" (The Great Commision) as Jesus Christ commanded in Matthew. After your watching this video, I have some more clarity about my spiritual walk so I thank you for that.

When I first became a Christian I was led to believe in a works based salvation, now it's like a pattern in my mind. I have a hard time trusting in Christ and that He's my only purity and righteousness before God! I know this is just pride at it's core probably but do you have any advice on this and can someone please pray for me? Thank you!!

I respect this opinion, even though you kinda glossed over the most important part (in my opinion..... obviously) which is receiving the Holy Spirit. But at least you did mention it. As Christian's we (me included) gotta keep studying our word and communing with God so that we can continue to grow, and receive revelation. Big up to you, and keep up the fight for truth dear sister.

I agree with this whole video except in 5:24 , where you say "it's just that simple guys" which is where i disagree. Salvation isn't simple. First of all, it's not even our act. Salvation is a gift from God. We didn't choose Him, but He chose us, so it doesn't make any sense to call Salvation "simple". It's hard. You have to be called on to by God to receive Salvation. A FREE GIFT. God bless you miss :) Good video still

Been a long time Chelsey! Praise Jesus for you sharing the truth of The Word. I will continue to walk forward towards the cross there is no looking back ever. There will still be temptations BUT if we stay in union with Christ then we will not fall short and if we do fall He will make us stand again. And you're right, faith without actions is dead."the principle that religious profession and observance are not enough to guarantee salvation, unless there is the fruit of genuine salvation evidenced in the life of the person. “faith without works is dead” (James 2:26).God judges fruitlessness, and expects that those who have a relationship with Him will “bear much fruit” (John 15:5-8)." God bless you!

What about baptism? Acts 2:38 KJV says that we must be baptized in the name of Jesus. Also, Jesus said that we must be born of the water and of the spirit in order to be born again (John 3:3-7 KJV). We can't leave out baptism. You are right that salvation is a gift but if we are living a life surrendered to Jesus we will obey His word which includes being baptized and tarrying for the Holy Ghost . Romans 10:9 in my KJV Bible says..."thou shalt be saved". Your Bible says "you will be saved". Either way, neither translations say YOU ARE SAVED. There's a difference between what you "will be" and what you "are". We have to repent, be baptized (following Jesus' example) and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost (Acts 2:38-39 KJV and Acts 5:29, 32 KJV). Without the Holy Ghost, how are we going to be raptured? God is going to call back His spirit on Rapture Day.
@katemcbee7 жыл бұрын
LastNameCommon the thief on the cross beside Jesus was not baptised because he did not have the chance obviously, but Jesus said surely today you will be with me in Paradise. Baptism is not required but it is something that a true follower of Christ will want to do and will do in obedience. The thief was saved because God revealed himself through Jesus to him and he believed that Christ is the Messiah sent to save us from the wrath of God. (Now I know that story doesn't go into detail of all that in the Bible but that's the realization of the gospel that the Bible teaches) Hopefully that makes since. God bless
@LastNameCommon7 жыл бұрын
Mary Calhoun Hey there! We actually don't know the back story of the thief on the cross. He could have been a back slider (who was baptized previously) who lost his way but came to himself as he was on the cross in the presence of Jesus, repenting in that very moment. Jesus said that we must be born again...we must be born of the water (baptism) and of the spirit (Holy Ghost) in order to make it into heaven (John 3:5 KJV). There aren't any verses that say that baptism is optional. Even Jesus (who was without sin) was baptized and this pleased God. Are we (sinners) greater than Jesus in that we don't need baptism? I certainly am not! After Jesus was baptized He was filled with the Holy Ghost. We also must receive the precious gift of the Holy Ghost. Jesus gives us power through the Holy Ghost to truly change, crucify this flesh daily and live holy. Jesus also says that "he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved" (Mark 16:16 KJV). Believing is the first step but we can't stop there. Faith without works is dead. When we are baptized our old man enters a water grave (our old man dies) and we are born again as a new creature in Christ Jesus (Romans 6:4-6 KJV). Any way you look at it, baptism is required. If you say that baptism is a matter of obedience, then it is still required because disobedience (i.e., a rebellious spirit) is a sin (1 Samuel 15:22-23 KJV). Sin will not enter heaven.
@LionessOfBeauty6 жыл бұрын
Mary Calhoun Jesus was not glorified yet, so that's why the thief did not have to be baptized in the Holy Ghost. The Holy Spirit came after Jesus rose on the 3rd. Paradise is where every believer in God went before Jesus died, buried and rose again.
@exchange26646 жыл бұрын
Mary Calhoun thats false. Jesus was still alive when the thief on the cross converted. When jesus was not ascended to heaven yet. He said to his diciples. Make deciples. Baptize them. And even scriptures says it. Verly verly i say unto thee Except the man be born in the water and in the spirit. He shall NOT enter the kingdom of god. Repent and be baptized for the REMISSIONS of your sins.

i genuinely am so confused about my salvation. i was saved as a young age (7ish) and i was on fire for the Lord. as i became a tween/teenager, i struggled with sin frequently. i felt remorse for it, sometimes right after but sometimes it took a while for me to feel remorse. now in retrospect, i feel intense guilt and remorse and disgust for the things i did. for two years now i've wondered if i was really saved because of that period in my life where i sinned so often, and i've probably prayed for salvation 20+ times in the last two years. but it's also been causing me to question so so much about my faith. God has been showing me Matt. 13, the parable of the sower, lately, and I'm trying to discern what it all means. am i weak in faith like the third seed, or did i have no deep rooted belief like in the second? please pray that I find guidance - if that means i realize i wasn't truly saved as a kid or if i return from being backslidden. any advice is welcome on this

Oh Lord the comments on here really worry me about the state of Christianity. I don’t understand how many times the Bible says that it’s by believing in Christ alone to be saved but people always want to bring “works” in the picture. Your works will never save or prove that your saved. Most Muslims and Jehovah witnesses have more works than most Christians but are they saved? Let’s look at Jesus finished work on the cross as the final reason that we are saved eternally not by introspection. Thank u PS Heaven is a Gift not a reward.

It's awesome to be a believer and come to God but in order to be truly saved the word also says we must speak in tongues to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost which comes from God (Acts 2:4, Acts 2:38 KJV)
@ChelseyMariaa7 жыл бұрын
You are preaching a works based salvation. If we can agree the bible is infallible and does not contradict itself, we can also agree in the word it states 31 And they said, x“Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you yand your household.”Nowhere in the text does it say "speak tongues and you will be saved" "speak tongues and you will go into heaven" We only by it to heaven through Christ and Christ alone. 1 Corinthians 12:30Paul states NOT ALL christians speak in tongues or have that gift. So what happens to those who believe in Christ and walk in righteous but dont speak tongues, will Christ send them to hell? No because as the word stated Believe in Christ and you will be saved. Therefore, insisting on some subsequent thing like tongues as an instrument of salvation would go against the idea of faith alone. Please return to the word and study it out in context
@heyfionaa7 жыл бұрын
ChelseyMariaa speaking in tongues was a gift to the apostles in order for the people to know they were apostles, so speaking in tongues has ceased as in was to authenticate the apostles, and all the apostles have died, also speaking in tongues was the ability to speak in any language not make noises from the mouth which is what it is known as today

thank you for this , its a frequent asked question. what is your view on baptism being a part of being 'saved'?
@ChelseyMariaa7 жыл бұрын
hey sis, I answered this question a few comments down. I will paste it here.
@ChelseyMariaa7 жыл бұрын
Baptism doesn't save you from hell, nor is it the means by which you're saved. Baptism is a public declaration of faith. Baptism is important for all believers. www.gotquestions.org/baptism-Mark-16-16.html Also i would like add that baptism does not change a man's nature only Christ does, this why we can't place out hope on anything outside of Christ.
@demeteressence7 жыл бұрын
I agree with Chelsey. True salvation is Faith in action. Faith without action is dead (James 2:26) also true success is obeying the voice of The Holy Spirit.
@paigeadderley17637 жыл бұрын
Not trying to be rude or anything, but I think you should study the Word more. Read John chapter 3 when Jesus had a conversation with Nicodemus about salvation; John 3:5 "Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." Yes faith through Christ is how we "Will" or "Shall be" saved, but faith without works is dead & also, Jesus said over and over again that you must be baptized in the Spirit. Also read Acts 2:38 " Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." I'm only stating this with love & not in any way to argue or cause division. ❤
@ChelseyMariaa7 жыл бұрын
I think i responded to a similar comment above, you can scroll up if you would like to see the response. Baptism is NOT neccessary for salvation, however is it an important step in obedience. Requiring anything in addition to faith is work based salvation. We can't work for or earn anything that is freely given. Acts 16:31 31 And they said, x“Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you yand your household.” not believe, *be baptized* and be saved. Ephesians 2:8-9 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; cit is the gift of God, 9 not a result of works, so that no one may boast. being baptized is an action i.e. work. We do not work to be saved, we believe to be saved. Baptism is a public declaration of belief in saving faith. I have studied this properly, I truly believe you should study out the True Gospel. Much love.
@LastNameCommon7 жыл бұрын
Chelsey Mariaa I agree that salvation is a gift but faith without works is dead. Plus, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you WILL be saved" does not mean that you ARE saved. Jesus says that "he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved" (Mark 16:16 KJV). Believing is the first step but we can't stop there. We can't pick and choose which scriptures we want to listen to; all scripture is inspired by God and should be followed collectively. Eternal punishment is reserved for anyone who adds to or takes away from the Word of God (Revelation 22:18 KJV). Nevertheless, either way you look at it, baptism is required. If you say that baptism is only a matter of obedience, then it is still required because disobedience (i.e., a rebellious spirit) is a sin (1 Samuel 15:22-23 KJV) and no sin will enter the kingdom of heaven.

Chels is correct. Study how to "rightly divide" as commanded in 2 Timothy 2:15 KJV: "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, *rightly* *dividing* the word of truth." This is known as dispensationalism. It clears up what would seem to be contradictions in scripture! 🙌🏻 Timothy S Morton has an article online called 'the difference is in the dispensations' , super easy to understand and all backed by scripture.

I'm saved and being a Christian is hard. I am a sinner so I fall but I get back up. I try again and pray. I read my bible. This life long process. I am a fighter. Also do women supposed to dress modest?

I have a question, do women really have to cover their head with a scarf in church. The women in my church keep saying that they always refer to 1 Corinthians 11
@missundercover50617 жыл бұрын
You need to wear a scarf if you're a married woman while praying.

*wanted to comment this on the 'Young and Christian and Alone' video, but i feel like I wouldn't get a quick response so I wanna get some quick feedback and just some ears to hear me (or eyes to read lol). I've recently lost 2 of my best friends because we've grown apart, 1 walked away from Christ and the other is lukewarm with her faith. I, on the other hand, have changed my ways by (mainly) listening to Christian music and really making my faith my own. I don't know what to do. I want to help them and be the light to them but at the same time, I hear people saying how I need to leave them because they will remind me of my past self etc. I'm not sure if the longevity of the friendship matters, but we've been friends for quite some time. And at the same time, I don't want to be stuck in a toxic friendship that will end up hurting my spirit. :( I'm so alone and lost but I'm trying my best to trust in God and to surround myself with more like-minded people..idk, any words of encouragement and advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Shannon!! I dealt with something very similar and I know it is tough. I felt as though I needed to stay close to my friends and show them Jesus, even though I knew hanging around them was drawing me farther from God..It seemed like after hanging out with them, I felt the need to repent about something I said or did! As Christians, we must choose our close friends wisely and guard our hearts. Amos 3:3 says "can two people walk together without agreeing on the direction?" He has great plans for you!! Obey whatever God is telling you, He knows much more than we do. Read His Word and pray about it! When I knew I needed to separate myself from my friends, this is what my Nana told me and it helped me a lot: She said tell them u have something important to tell them and you'd really appreciate it if they'd listen. Read them John chapter 3. So as you read, now it's Jesus talking, not you. Then tell them that you really want to take your walk with Christ seriously and that you want to really focus on Him! I will be praying for you Shannon, that God gives you grace and the strength and courage to step out in faith. Surrender everything to Christ:) Jesus loves you soo much! It may seem hard to let them go and scary to do, but if that is what God is telling you to do, then it will be soo worth it. I am sooo so glad I stopped hanging out with my old friends and focused on Christ! They may not understand, but that's okay. When you obey God and put Him first, He will be with you always, for sure and for certain. I will be praying for you Shannon. God be with you:) read Joshua 1:9 and 2 Corinthians 6! "Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you." Matthew 6:33

@Chelesy Mariaa I love the video, but don't you have to be baptize as well? John 3:5 and acts 2:38-39
@ChelseyMariaa7 жыл бұрын
Baptism doesn't save you from hell, nor is it the means by which you're saved. Baptism is a public declaration of faith. Baptism is important for all believers. www.gotquestions.org/baptism-Mark-16-16.html

If I am just beginning to read the bible, should I read it from beginning to end like a novel, or is there a different way to read it that may be better?
@valeriav26087 жыл бұрын
Jahnaya Delgado try researching Chronological Order on google and follow it :) Or read like i do! Psalms/proverbs and one chapter from new testament! One old two new :)
@jenenem93587 жыл бұрын
Jahnaya Delgado there's no chronological order God word is intimate it speaks daily you can read Genesis to learn about creation, and John 1; to learn more about Jesus the word of God who (and who is God) became flesh. Or Psalm for wisdom and comfort. so no matter where you start God speaks and feeds your spirit. I hope this helps. also pray for understanding and get connected with bible studies 😊 God bless u.
