Well presented Dave, what a job with ante / post betting today. It’s not like the good old days when you could get value for money, now it’s crazy to think you can get any value at all, let alone select the horse that is guaranteed to run in the race you want. Willy De H in the Triumph possibly being the one exception. I just might take another look at him for that race, otherwise keep your money in your pocket for the day. You are not allowed to win anymore.

Good Summary, which sums up why Anti post betting is these days so difficult. Basically in some races the prices are silly short as there’s still a lot of doubt about who’s running e.g. Ballyburn in the Arkle or where many possible contenders haven’t been seen yet so you’re guessing with fingers crossed if you bet, such as the Triumph where the winner is often not seen till after Xmas. That said have people forgotten Willy’s horses usually start slow so the rise in his namesake for the Triumph is very tempting. Gonna wait for the NRNB markets to play it safer 🤷‍♂️

For me it's mostly wait and see still at the moment. A lot of Willie's runners have disappointed early which suggests either they'll bounce back later, or he's holding back his best ones. I'm tempted to have a few punts on his juveniles and novices that haven't run yet on the basis that he's maybe keeping back the best ones for the DRF as he's done before and as soon as they run the prices will be gone. Most interested in Karoline Banbou for the Mares Novices, Salvator Mundi for the Supreme, Ile Atlantique/Majborough for the novice chases (there's a whole host of potential ones for the Browns if Ballyburn doesn't go there that haven't turned out yet as well) and Fou De Toi for the Triumph so I will be keeping a close eye on prices for those in case I want to get involved before they run. Kilgame, Kainsbourg & The Yellow Clay for De Bromhead & Elliot are ones I want to see run with an eye on the novice hurdles as well. But of those I've seen: Fact To File/Spillane's Tower/Galopin Des Champs - All of these are of interest. I have Spillane's Tower at 33s for the Gold Cup, but started to throw him in a couple of small stakes multiples for the Ryanair just to have him covered there as I was impressed by his closing run in the John Durkan. Galopin is the value in the Gold Cup market after a reappearance as good as can be expected and I will want to get on that before he runs again I think. Fact To File was super-impressive and will be a joy to watch if he does go and win the Gold Cup but I still have slight doubts whether he really wants a strong 3m2f and couldn't have him ahead of Galopin over that I don't think. Teahupoo - Claims weakened I think as performed well below himself in the Hatton's Grace. False pace may be a reason for that and he was so far ahead of everything else that even weakened claims still puts him comfortably the right favourite, but I won't be backing off the back of that run. Also can't back anything against him though. Strong Leader still has a lot to prove against proper grade 1 company. I have half an eye on whether Mystical Power might come here in the hope that he settles better over 3 miles but can't have any confidence after Saturday's run so it's a watching brief for now. Lossiemouth/State Man/Sir Gino/Brighterdaysahead - Lossiemouth far too short on the same basis as above. That Hatton's Grace was shocking and don't see why she should be such clear favourite. Obviously won with her head in her chest and is capable of being a lot better, but race was very slow and beating Beacon Edge by 9 lengths doesn't excite me. Much more impressed with Sir Gino's performance, hard to look that impressive on a short run-in like Newcastle but race was a lot quicker (2nd quickest Fighting Fifth in last 10 years I think) and he looked all the way around like he'd prefer to be going even quicker. Like Lossiemouth he won comfortably and was keen all the way. For me the two of them should probably be the same price at the top of the Champion hurdle market taking into account Lossiemouth's 7 lbs allowance, wouldn't be backing either at the 15/8 Lossiemouth is right now. Not totally ruling out State Man yet but he's not had to beat much to dominate the division since the unfortunate happenings to Constitution Hill and looks to have a much harder task on his hands this time so couldn't be backing him. Brighterdaysahead probably goes for the Mares given how strong that Champion Hurdle picture looks and I expect her to win it - should be better going left-handed, though more than happy to have a 20/1 ticket on Jade De Grugy. Ballyburn - Beats everything in front of him again this season unless Sir Gino goes chasing and they meet in the Arkle as Sir Gino looks a natural 2 mile chaser all day long whereas Ballyburn looks like he wants further ideally. Firefox - agree doesn't quite look good enough to be winning grade ones against this company. I have a 50/1 ticket on Croke Park for the Browns and worried he showed a bit too much speed for that race in that Drinmore but Firefox was beaten without excuses I'd say. Should be better over shorter but still just doesn't look good enough. Willie De Houelle - travelled strongly and I think just picked off by a quieter ridden one - another who should be better going left handed as he was jumping left, likely to still take his place in the Triumph I expect and wouldn't be surprised to see him still win it. Ballygunner Castle - had to deal with so much going wrong with the loose horse and still won what looks to be a pretty hot race. Expect to see some good winners come out of that race and him being in front of them all makes him of big interest at the moment. Will probably look to have a bet on him for the Albert Bartlett before he runs next, but Turners also a possibility so could be a tricky one to place. Not looking at any of the British horses at this stage. There have been a couple that look strong but on recent Cheltenhams the Brits are likely to be limited to the handicaps and this far out I couldn't be punting on any of them in the open races with so many of the Irish ones yet to run. Jonbon is the one for the Champion Chase for me at the moment but I couldn't back him this far out - as you say I can't see him going off silly short so we've got time to wait on that.

Great video as always. Loved the fact you looked at most of the big antipost markets. But like you pointed out, we dont really know who's going were yet. I still think CH is great value at around 9-2. But will he ever get back to the machine which he was. And im tempted also to back Sir Gino in the Arkle. Because they are raving about his ability over fences. But hate second guessing were these Horses will end up.

Cheltenham is still on the long finger for me. Unless I get a Nrnb, I just won't bother for now. Irish bookies are tight bastards!!
