I think it is on purpose myself. I think he’s just really good at making it seem unintentional. Because one of his favorite lines of comedy is making himself seem totally crazy to people unfamiliar with himself, like new viewers. So imagining he’s one of those new viewers even though he’s literally rewatching himself I think is a layered bit that he’s doing.

11:33 god i love these moments. i basically grew up with these now ancient tf2 videos and whenever i revisit them nowadays and realize how much has changed and i go down to read the comments and theyre all atleast 8 or 9 years old now i feel strangely lonely, like im walking through a place lost in time. a mix of nostalgia and longing, and yeah, loneliness. i love when he reacts to those old videos because it reconciles that weird Tuber past he had thats now gone with his current post-dollhouse post-debt post-susguy self, and for a moment the creator and the viewer look back at his work together, and it doesnt feel so lonely anymore.
