Just a note from the video, rust is iron (III) oxide which is Fe2O3, not Fe(OH)3. It does form hydrated complexes with water, which are designated Fe2O3·nH2O.

Yes, Fe2O3 or FeO. Iron III hydroxide is often created when Iron oxidizes, but I think this video should be corrected in the meantime.

I was teaching the difference between chemical and physical changes to my 10 year old nephew at the weekend as chemical reaction is his new school topic. The only problem is his primary 6/7 teacher (we're in Scotland) is not teaching it correctly; boiling water etc. is a chemical reaction!? Watching this helped confirm his understanding of the difference between the two changes. The next thing is to get the basic molecular model sets to see what is happening at atom level and to teach him to bite his tongue in class so he won't get into trouble for pointing out the teacher is wrong! Thanks for this.
