Physical change : A physical change is a temporary in which no new substance is formed and the chemical composition of the original substance remains the same even tho some of its physical properties like colour state size etc. Might change. CHEMICAL CHANGE - Chemical change is a permanent change, in which new substances r formed whose chemical composition physical and chemical properties are different from those of the original substance .

The chemical changes can be confusing with bullet points such as cloudy and temperature change. For cloudy I immediately thought of putting salt into a cup of water. For temperature change I thought of H20 going from ice to water to vapor. I just need more practice i guess.

I would think that cooking meat is both. When you cook meat there the brown on it is called the maillard effect (you wanna check the spelling on that) but that is when the proteeins on the surface break down and combine with the sugars present in the fats. And it is a physical change as you heat it up.
@tamarasiblani10 жыл бұрын
my hw was to watch this and answer these questions: Physical change. 1.What is a physical change? 2.Give 5 examples 3.When water is boiling, what do the bubbles contain? 4.What do we get when we dissolve sugar in water? Chemical change 1.What is the first example of a chemical change mentioned in the video? 2.List some clues of a chemical change 3.Which clue we cannot rely on in the lab? Why? 4.What are the substances on the left side of a chemical equation called? 5.What are the substances on the right side of a chemical equation called? 6.What do we mean by a balanced chemical equation? 7.Do we change subscripts or coefficients in order to balance a chemical equation?

A cloud forming in the atmosphere is not a chemical change, but a physical change since the water vapor is condensing on condensation nuclei.

It's a reversible, physical reaction. When the water evaporates you will be left with sugar crystals again. No chemical reaction has occurred. There will be no real taste change as the sugar and sugar water both taste sweet
@Levantinelyjan11 жыл бұрын
if water boils, wouldnt it be a chemical changes ince it produces bubbles?
@8block8_creat10 жыл бұрын
I'm not sure about that one
@maryholmgren587410 жыл бұрын
The water is producing bubbles due to a temperature change, not because a second chemical was added. The water is still water, just vapor.
@futureself612610 жыл бұрын
Mary Holmgren isnt temperature change mean that its a chemical change??
@maryholmgren587410 жыл бұрын
You are adding the heat. Chemical change evidence is when you have a temperature without adding heat. For example, if you combine two liquids and the temperature increases without you adding the heat, then you have evidence of a chemical change.
@maryholmgren587410 жыл бұрын
If you heat water in a beaker or pan over a Bunsen burner or on a stove, you are adding heat through the combustion on some hydrocarbon (methane or propane). Hotlightning

there is no taste change. Sugar tastes the same before you dissolve it in water and after you dissolve it. Still tastes like sugar. On the other hand, bread doesn't taste the same before you bake it and after you bake it and thus because taste change has occurred, therefore chemical change has also occurred.

Thanks so much for this video. I'm an adult returning to school. I thought I had it all figured out after watching your video....but, I ran into another example in my reading assignment that was totally different from what I thought it should be....please help!! Why is a fried egg considered a chemical reaction? It's still an egg it just changes form! ugghh!! I'm so confused! I would've thought it would be physical. Is it the temperature change? But what about boiling water? The temperature changes with that too? :(
@haydn4ever10 жыл бұрын
***** Thank you so much! Another thing that helped was realizing that a with a chemical change you can't get back to the original form. A fried egg will never again be as it was in the shell. Prior to cooking you could put it back in the shell in the same state. It took awhile, but I kept watching video after video til I understood. This video was great though!
