Hi Chan, thank you for watching. We're a company that's really passionate about cars, so our mission is to keep them as clean as possible using tools that don't cause harm to your sensitive paintwork. What really drives us is passion, an we know that people really want to do a great job detailing their own vehicles as well. We look at allot of products on the market, and we try to come up with better solutions because we notice many inefficiencies. Mainly we're all about making people's lives easier, I didn't know anything about detailing, but I've watched enough of our videos to take on most jobs, and I was fortunate enough to participate in the SDU training program which opened my eyes to the possibility of detailing vehicles as a viable business. We provide the tools so people can develop the confidence to do the things they thought were not possible.

Also, i have taught myself how to do woodworking, motor repair, paint correction etc. Am i great at any? No....am i way better because when I had a question I didnt ask it in the comments...i went and found another video related to my question. That video normally answered my question and I learned additional information about the subject and perhaps it raised another question and then I watched another video and so on and so forth. If you think you're just going to watch one video and then ask a question like "hey how can I make my car look like a professionally polished Ferrari ....oh yeah and I need to be done in 40 min. As I have ADD"....well, nobody is going to be able to answer that question in three sentences. Actually, i could. Answer: you have no patience so take it to s pro, pay up, go shopping, and soon it will be all done. Otherwise, watch, learn and oractice.

Newbie here. If I polish one area to remove a scratch do I need to then polish that entire side of the car for a consistent look or is it best just to polish small areas that need the scratch removed? Great video!
@metallic5spd6 жыл бұрын
if you only want the light scratch/scuff removed, you can just do that area. Its not like you will see a HUGE difference. I spot correct all the time as things happen to my daily and to friends and family's daily drivers. Obviously you would want to do the entire car if you want the entire car to be perfect! i use a 3" pad on a drill for spot correction but you need to be careful b/c on a drill, thats a rotary, not a Dual Action, as shown.

Hi Jc! You want to replace the pads when you no longer see the Hexagons on your pads. You can clean your pads as many times as you want using Pad cleaner. Polishing Pad Cleaner cleans and rejuvenates all foam, microfiber, and wool polishing pads. The innovative cleaner removes spent compound, polish, wax, and paint residue from any polishing pad. The citrus-based cleaner breaks down and releases spent product, removed paint, dirt, and contaminants from polishing pads. Polishing Pad Cleaner completely cleans out embedded product and paint residue from deep inside foam, microfiber, and wool polishing pads. Happy detailing! Good video. Stupid question : do I need to protect the windshield, windows, headlights... when polishing with a machine?
@ChemicalGuys7 жыл бұрын
When polishing, you want to cover small areas in a 2ft by 2ft radius. It's best to use painter's tape to cover areas that you don't want to accidentally polish. From what I've seen, it's best to cover door handles, plastic trim, and headlights. Stick to dual action polisher, it's safer.
@ChemicalGuys7 жыл бұрын
Hi there Frenchman, I completely misinterpreted your question. Yes, you're going to want to tape off the windshield, windows, and headlights when polishing just to be extra safe.

@Sim2Real.7 жыл бұрын
You can get away without doing that, but spread it evenly like they did, and then use your hand to work it in the pad, so it´s even (residue control, you should use gloves btw). And afterwards do the same they did. I like chemical guys but they have a huge selection of products that just overcomplicate things, most of the times they arent neccesary, but still a nice touch.

Great video, how many pads would I need to polish the entire car? Thank you for your time
@ChemicalGuys7 жыл бұрын
Hi Michael, thank you for tuning in. To answer your question, you have to determine how badly your car is scratched, and then you have to figure out what type of paint you're working with. In some cases, a one step polish like V4, or VSS is all you need to make the paint look new again. In other cases, if you want a more perfect correction; you will need to do about two to three steps do get better results. You always want to start with the least aggressive approach because you don't want to excessively remove too much clear coat. Typically you start out with V36 and an orange pad because the orange pad has medium cut, and then you would use V38 which is a jeweling polish that refines the paint, and it removes buffer trails. If for example the paint isn't responding to V36, then you would need a compound like V34 which contains a medium amount of abrasives to remove additional layers of clear coat. To recap, the harder the paint and the deeper the scratches, more steps will be needed. To put it simply, it's one pad for every procedure, pads aren't disposable, they can be reused many times as long as you maintain them well. Stay tuned Michael, more great videos are on the way. C.G. Alex -

+Bryan Cardenas I started with the v line polishes and an orange, white, and black pad. I think that should do 99% of anything you could need to do as far as paint correction
@_JimboSlice8 жыл бұрын
+Bryan Cardenas Buy 2 medium pads (orange) and a wax pad (red) to start. Also need a light abrasive (polish) and a medium abrasive (cutting) compound. Start with a spot on your trunk w orange pad and polish. Do a small spot on trunk lid like in video. If that clears scratches and swirls, that's your combo. If there are still swirls, try a new orange pad w cutting compound on a new area of trunk lid. Do just a small section with just a few passes in each direction. if this works, use this method over car, then use polish next, then wax. If cutting compound and orange pad didn't work....take it to a pro, or go practice with orange pad and cutting compound on an old car that if paint gets burned it won't matter (someone has to have an old Honda). Get technique for removing swirls and scratches down, then go back to your car.

Hey I have a 2010 chrysler 300 black with sparkles on the paint it has a few minor scratches and marks, I want to purchase my own polishing machine and products to try and polish myself to learn. Any recommendations on where to buy everything I will need !?

Hey Jaiden, here's a kit that pretty much covers everything you will need, it comes with the polisher, pads backing plates, and pad conditioner. The only thing mission from this kit is the com-pound and polishes. I'm going to give you a link to both. This should set you on the right path. www.chemicalguys.com/TORQ_TORQX_Complete_Detailing_Kit_p/buf_209x.htm www.chemicalguys.com/V_Line_Polish_Compound_Sample_Kit_4_oz_p/gap_vkit_04.htm C.G. Alex -

Is it best to clean car before or after polishing?
@ChemicalGuys4 жыл бұрын
Hey there! It is best to thoroughly clean and dry the vehicle prior to polishing. This insure the best finish and reduce the chances of marring the paint.

It's weird that this benign comment got likes. Seems nothing special to me.
