Yeah some parts of chemistry are fun, but I am in college and all we do is mixing different solutions, learning about different reactions. And I am like: Why the f--- do we need to know the concentration of some solutions at chemical equilibrium? Why do I have to know that an acidic solution is formed if I mix a cation of a strong base and an anion of a strong acid? Why should I care about polarity or osmotic pressure? It just seems that the subjects covered in chemistry are highly specific and not applicable to everyday life contrary to what is stated in the video. In physics, we cover a large variety of phenomena, and we explain them, we learn many things which could be useful, from mechanics to light to electronics

Iam a third year pure chemistry student, I chose chemistry because I loved it since high school, but it is just that I don't like organic chemistry although it is very important in the medical field, Iam a big fan of physical chemistry especially quantum mechanics it just makes me amazed in every lecture, and I adore biochemistry and medicinal chemistry, and I love natural chemistry.I like Analytical chemistry.I think chemistry is not a science by itself but I think it is the door for a lot of majors like pharmacology, medicine, cooking, modern physics, industry and synthesis of basicly everything from particles to universe. Before college I wanted to study pharmacy and now I still want to but now if you ask me I can't imagine my life without chemistry from reading ingredients on my food or shampoo or drugs, it made me a better person, and a better cooker for sure. It's not an easy major but it is a major that can facilitate your life. And I'm proud to have it as my major.

I just began my life as a 3rd year pure chemistry student. The math classes required are going to kill me (currently in calculus II and not doing too well). I love chemistry with a deep passion. I would marry it if that were possible! I agree with what you said about chemistry not being a science by itself but a door for lots of other majors. It's quite the foundation science. Still, I do love learning about chemistry. I'm not sure where my degree will take me, and I will do everything I can to finish my degree (some days in math are very discouraging and make me feel sad). I wish you success as a fellow pure chemistry student. If you have any information related to jobs/careers in the field, let me know. Or, if you'd like, reply to this comment and maybe we can exchange emails to keep each other updated about our lives as upcoming chemists. I wish you much learning and success in life🙏🏾
