ye~ i respect this man that he plays the old-style penhold with short pips,he is left-handed and have a powerful serve which is rare in pips player,and he doesn't do looping all the time.Nowaday pros seem to play all like the same, it's sometimes even boring to watch Chinese shake hand players' game.I love pingpong cuz it's a totally free game to play,you can chop you can loop you can attack any timing and have all kinds of spins, you can play like 5 hours in a row and without feel exhaust.

HZW is the bomb! Such style is extremely rare to see these days, in fact, I think he is the only one among the pros.

I really respect He Zhi Wen's style. Short pimple with penhold grip, coupled with left-handed strokes... he can easily outplay any pro half his age. Unfortunately, against another left hander and a China player trained with a monstrous forehand, HZW's advantage is all but gone. :(

I agree hzw has no advantage as much as play with right hand player, if this match he plays with wang liqin I'm sure he throws problem to wang more than Chen qi

Zhiwen is amazing. Few people can keep this level of competition at his age. Chen Qi's forehand is one of the most powerful ones in the world. Like the game.

And this is why China no longer uses short / long pips. The effectiveness is severekt reduced when your opponent is very consistent with their attacks, i.e. the entire china national team.

See, I don't see why people seems to be sensitive to table tennis' athletic quality as a sport. It can be played seriously and becomes a very intense workout indeed. But there is nothing wrong with playing it as a game. Don't be surprised if you get beaten by someone who doesn't move an inch someday.

You can play a few minutes of serious multi-ball and be as tired as death itself ... I finished a session of multi-ball the other day and chugged 1.5 litres of water straight away .. then I left the club and by the time I was in the car .. I had a dry/ powdery mouth sensation again ...

actually he's right. assuming you're on a similar level, that generally means his technique is better. i play for 8 hrs in a row bc my technique is so efficient. the way i got that way was i forced myself to hit 10k balls in a row on the robot each day until it became effortless. also took lessons from top 3 US pros
