On June 27, 2021, Chengdu Tianfu International Airport officially opened. Chengdu has become the third city in China with two international aviation hubs after Beijing and Shanghai. The inland areas of western China are about to usher in a new chapter of direct participation in the global industrial division of labor, and the opening up of the western China will also take on new wings.
Scott, a British "Rongpiao", has been living in Chengdu for 9 years. On the day of the first flight at Chengdu Tianfu International Airport, he visited his friend Diego, an Italian captain of China Eastern Airlines, and went on a special flying journey with Diego together! Thank you for the wonderful video. There is a great future for Chengdu to become one of the best cities in the world. Airports in China are big with multiple runways. The initial planning is meticulous with future capacity in mind. I have lived in the UK for more than 50 years. London Heathrow is one of the busiest airports in the world. It has 5 terminus but only 2 runways. We have debated about the 3rd runway for over 30 years and eventually it has been approved for two years, but no physical work on the 3rd runway has yet begun. This is a real contrast between the rapid development in China and slow progress in the West that has too much bureaucracy. Valuable time is wasted, and in Heathrow's case 30 years.

Chinese infrastructure is of the highest quality in the world. Chengdu is such a gorgeous city displaying the best of traditional Chinese architecture with the convenience of modern living. For a huge nation, transport infrastructure is of vital importance to ensure her economic development and obviously she has made it handsomely all these years. Developing economies can follow her approach to this end. There is no doubt that some central planning is a requirement and such approach does not necessarily monopolized by a Central Government which wanted to control such infrastructure, hence the rate of developments in China.
