~ சென்னை கடற்கரையில் இருந்து எழும்பூர் ரயில் நிலையங்கள் வரையிலான நான்காவது பாதை திட்டத்தை மார்ச் இறுதிக்குள் முடிக்க தெற்கு ரயில்வே எதிர்பார்க்கிறது, மேலும் ஒரே நேரத்தில் பொறியியல் மற்றும் கட்டுமானப் பணிகளில் பல்வேறு முனைகளில் ஈடுபட்டுள்ளது.
~நான்காவது வழித்தடப் பணிகளை விரைவுபடுத்துவதற்காக, தெற்கு ரயில்வே மேல்நிலை மின்சாரப் பாதையை இயக்கத் தொடங்கியுள்ளது, மேலும் புதிய பாதைக்கான ரயில் பேனல்கள் மற்றும் கான்கிரீட் ஸ்லீப்பர்கள் இருப்புடன் சிக்னல் மற்றும் தொலைத்தொடர்பு அமைப்புகளையும் நிறுவுகிறது.
~ திட்டத்தின் ஒரு பகுதியாக, கடற்கரையிலிருந்து வேளச்சேரி வரை இயக்கப்பட்டு வந்த மாஸ் ரேபிட் டிரான்சிட் சிஸ்டம் (எம்ஆர்டிஎஸ்) ஆகஸ்ட் 27 முதல் சிந்தாதிரிப்பேட்டை ரயில் நிலையம் வரை துண்டிக்கப்பட்டது.

~ நான்காவது லைன் 4 கிமீ முதல் 5 கிமீ வரை கட்டப்பட வேண்டும், புதிய பாதை கூவம் ஒரு பகுதியில் நிறுவப்பட்டது மற்றும் மூன்று ரயில் நிலையங்கள் வழியாக செல்கிறது. இதனால், பிளாட்பாரங்கள் இடிப்பு, கூவம் வழியாக தடுப்புச்சுவர் கட்டுவதற்கான பைலிங் பணிகள் உள்ளிட்ட பல்வேறு குடிமராமத்து பணிகள் மேற்கொள்ளப்பட உள்ளது. மேலும், சில பாலங்களின் இடைவெளியை நீட்டிக்க வேண்டியிருந்தது. குடிமராமத்து பணியின் ஒரு பகுதியாக, கூவம் ஆற்றின் குறுக்கே தடுப்புச்சுவர் கட்டும் பணியும், 60 சதவீத தடுப்புச்சுவர் பணியும், சென்னை பூங்கா அருகே பக்கிங்காம் கால்வாயின் குறுக்கே பாலம் விரிவாக்கப் பணியும் நடந்து வருகிறது.
