The Chennai Grandmasters is the strongest classical super tournament on Indian Soil. It boasts of a rating average of 2725. The players of the event include Arjun Erigaisi (2799), Vidit Gujrathi (2739), Levon Aronian (2739), MVL (2737), Parham Maghsoodloo (2712), Aravindh Chithambaram (2706), Amin Tabatabaei (2686) and Alexey Sarana (2679). A rating average of 2725. The total prize fund is Rs.50 lakhs (Approx 60,000 USD).
This year we also have the challengers section with the winner getting a spot in the masters section next year.
