Talk about standing out in the crowd. Those audience members looked like a bunch of Little house on the Prairie extras. If Cher yelled BOO!, they would've crapped their pant suits.
@eric1luv7289 жыл бұрын
+NoMoreBrotherWars I don't know about nicer, we're still faced with the issues of yesteryear. I feel that in thise times society was programed to keep it simple and they knew how to pretend very well. Thw audience should have been more diverse than that because they make her look like a side show and I'm sure their were more "Cher's" out at that time. It just seemed so surreal, I mean she "took a risk" by getting a tattoo? He acted as if he was raised by monks. Cher was much younger than the members in the audience, that can't be just a coincidence.

For any of you posting born after 1980 get real. Society does change over time and you will get a chance to see it as you grow older. Donahue was, for the times, very liberal. The questions he asked were the very things Cher was being chastised for. She was very radical left Sonny and was (god forbid) a single mother. The questions posed by him were the very things she was being chastised for, and he gave her the opportunity to speak out against her opposition like a talk show host should.

people on here judging Phil Donahue. Maybe most of you weren't around during his time on tv.He ruled daytime tv. I'll get a flack for this, but who cares. He could be equated to the male version of Oprah that's how popular his show was back in the late 70's and 80's. He asked hard punch questions of the day. He done a great job at interviewing Cher back in 1985

Was this really 1985? Donahue's interview questions seem antiquated, like more from the 1950s. There were a lot of edgy people in the entertainment industry in the 80s. Cher was not the most edgy around. However, Cher was a great beauty, no doubt. The question about what Chastity thought about the lesbian role, is very ironic.
@angeminc9 ай бұрын
I was at that taping decades ago. The audience was very disappointed that she was going to be the guest. She actually ended up being pretty cool, and pretty interesting. Now these actors and actresses look anyway they want. They do whatever they want behavior wise. I guess if your a good actor, you do you on your own time.

Good lord, this is in 1985? He's such a bigot! He's like going back to the 50's-60's with men's views on women! You can just see it in his body language, how he's trying to press his thought of "this is wrong" or what-not of control over a women through his speech and behavior. Not to mention the way he puts one foot up on the stage, leaning in, and if you know just a bit of psychology, that's a very "I'm male / dominant here" sign like trying to prove himself in charge over her.

I noticed he is very uncomfortable w/ her, in his body language and his "pauses".. Most of this interview, is something bad abt Cher.. That is the feeling I get, when I listen to him, pointing out bad things, like nitpicking.. I am uncomfortable, just listening to him, I guess he needs his ratings
