It always seems like in competitions like these, the people who made it to the top but didn't get the big title are the ones who usually win in the long run. Like One Direction, Cher, etc. They may not have gotten the votes to win, but someone somewhere saw them and signed them to label deals and these people had the ambition to get themselves back out there and become something other than "that person who was on __________." The people who win think they've got in the bag, but after the season ends, their fame is usually short lived. They end up becoming "that one person who won that one show that one time" and they get buried underneath the true stars that they ended up beating.

+lynn ly The people who win get SHOW contracts and the contracts prevent them from signing on to a better label. the people who don't win often become MORE famous. Actually, when you really like someone on a show, you hope they will come in second because they don't get a show contract. Then a rich and famous producer comes along and signs the "losers" up for a record deal and then they become famous. You don't HAVE to lose. A few winners made it big, like Kelly Clarkson.
