Cher törel. Tethering Foals and Praising Masters of the Altai Mountains in Mongolia. An ethnographic video essay, 30 min., Victoria Soyan Peemot (University of Helsinki) and Robert O. Beahrs (Istanbul Technical University).
The ritual was filmed in July 2016. I have shared the film with the Tsengel-Tyva community and local collaborators and their families during fieldwork in autumn 2022.
The film was presented at the following academic events:
1) (the draft version), Altaic Studies Seminar “The Herder-Hunter Perspectives from the Sayan-Altai Mountains”, University of Helsinki, 2 March 2017;
2) the Tyva Institute for Applied Research In Humanities (TIGPI), March 2017;
3) the 12th International Convention of Asia Scholars “Crafting a Global Future” organised with the Kyoto Seika University, the ICAS 12 Film Festival.
