As a health anxiety sufferer I'm the opposite. As of right now, going to the dr for just a check up would send me into panic...
@kasiakasia6627 Жыл бұрын
Same here. How you doing?
@Ladylothlorian Жыл бұрын
@@kasiakasia6627 I'm doing better I think. I've had a couple check ups. Having my blood pressure checked is the only thing that terrifies me, really. My doctor is amazing and knows I don't have HBP so she doesn't check it. At the end of the month I'm having mouth surgery so I'll be taking a xanax to relax me enough to let them take it.

I've been in the same boat and have slowly transitioned into the obsessive Dr. visit but now I'm finally turning that around too. What makes the anxiety tougher for me and why I think some of the techniques work, is that I've actually HAD the condition I'm obsessed over - blocked bowel. So the SLIGHTEST tummyache can send me into a spiral. I've Googled all there is to Google and similar to your issue, I had the opposite case where I would not Google the symptoms because I was afraid of what it would say. Which sounds good but it's also related to avoiding Dr. offices which I have always had a big phobia about, as well as being physically examined.
@Ladylothlorian Жыл бұрын
@@tomservo75 I've learned to fight the urge to google anything related to health. As far as Google goes, I've had strokes, heart attacks and brain cancer. It's easier said than done, but stop googling all together for your health. You can do hard things! God bless

Do you have reactive Hypoglycemia? Low blood sugar? Hypoglycemia is associated with an acute increase in epinephrine and cortisol and symptoms associated with anxiety such as shakiness, sweating, and heart palpitations. When we are hit by excess adrenaline from within, then we will FOCUS on anything that could possibly explain our internally driven fear reaction. There is a link between health anxiety and hypochondria (health anxiety).

Your doing such great work. Thank you for your time and effort. I've had health anxiety since I was a child. Was never diagnosed till about 12 years ago. It finally became debilitating and my world collapsed, the world became a tough place to be and I was incredibly scared all the time. I managed to find a way out with CBT and exposure therapy. It was no over night fix but I managed slowly lead a normal life. Looking back with hindsight it all came down to a fear of death for me. I'd like to say like yourself I still live with health anxiety and I have to be mindful of not letting myself fall back into past behaviours. Just want to say to others there is a way out, it might not seem like it in the moment, but keep going and seek help.

My worst situation is i finally took the plunge and had blood tests, then they did some follow ups (ECG, Urine Test), and although they could see me shaking with anxiety, and asked if i suffered with anxiety......they never got back to me. So now the trust is gone. They knew i had severe anxiety, they got me in for follow ups to cover all bases, and then left me completely abandoned. Everyone i know has told me if theres nothing to follow up on, they wont get in touch, but now all trust in doctors is gone and im trying to solve things on my own and just convince myself that nothings wrong 😢

I've gone in with specific information and they asked if I was medically trained also lol. I investigate so much, I know everything about every disease. I've been checked for Addisons, hashimotos, hypo/hyperthyroidism, myasthenia gravis, polymyositis, adrenal crisis, anything you can think of, I've had tested. It's out of hand. My family have decided to stop reassuring me now as it just fuels the fire. I take it personally but that's just my anxiety talking.
@shatteredgaming237810 күн бұрын
I went so far as to have a genetics test for medication, to see what agrees with me and what doesn't. I found out that I'm a very poor metaboliser, and was given a huge list of medication i should avoid and which would be beneficial. I did it for the antidepressants, and found out which ones would work with least side effects. It was expensive but i didnt care.

Sorry for the many comments lol I've gone into A&E with my own finger monitor on, and I run back an forth to the nurses saying, my pulse is going up, that's not my normal rate, they look at me stupid! I ask them what my blood pressure is, what bloods are they doing, and if they could add a couple more on. Its bad.

After 10 years on the HA train and I’m getting routine blood results from my GP. GP - “everything seems to be in normal range.” Me - “Right. So there’s nothing I need or there’s no test I need?” GP - “No!” Me - “No need for a 48 hour Holter or anything?” GP - “No! I’m happy enough that all is fine.” Me - “Should I get a Calcium Score?” GP - “well, maybe in about 5 years. You’re 53 now yes?” GP opens a heart disease risk table on his PC and says “looking here it says for your age you’ve 5% risk in developing heart disease from the lifestyle and general information we have.” Me - “Okay. So that’s it so I don’t need anything else?” GP - “Well I’ve a phone number here of a psychologist if you like to talk to her.”

My doctor's just push antidepressants on me, which I'm petrified of taking , so they say well you haven't taken them, What else do you want me to do. They prescribe different ones, and diazepam, see you in two weeks. In and out. I have a box of every single antidepressant you can think of. I've tried two, bad experience each time . They shout at me for not taking them, so do the crisis team. They said well if you Don't take the medication we can't help you. I think Dr's and the crisis team all need new up to date training on mental health. The treatment is simply not good enough

I think a lot of the problem is Drs seem to administer medicine based on population rather than individual. They are playing the statistical odds, when you are young it works heavily in your favour so unlikely to be anything serious...
@cherellethinks3 жыл бұрын
I agree!
@matthewacusworth85383 жыл бұрын
@@cherellethinks i appreciate why they do this, as everyone cannot have their own 1-2-1 Dr and do every test for every symptom. Like you have said on videos i think you have to trust your body and accept the Drs cannot find anything wrong with you. Roll the statistical life dice! Easier said than done sometimes lol!!!
