Hello. I am a lifelong generation Z Robbie Williams fan. I am so happy that a channel finally did a video of ranking his albums. Here’s my list: 12. Rudebox For me, this simply doesn’t work that well. The only material I like is the title track, Lovelight and She’s Madonna and Bongo Bongo. 11: Swing Both Ways Easily his less successful attempt at doing a swing album. Go Gentle, and Dream A Little Dream are pretty nice though. 10: Take The Crown Ultimately, a bit of a disappointment for me. Some songs are nice, but not stellar. Be A Boy, Gospel, his cover of “Eight Letters” by Take That and Not Like The Others are decent tracks. Different is the best song on the entire album for me. I’m actually someone that doesn’t like Candy. I find the melody slightly irritating. It’s not the actual song itself, but it’s because of my personal preference of it. I listened to it during a rough time in one of my friendships. We’re better than ever now, but the song reminds me of a time that I don’t wanna go back to. Overall, a decent, but not great Robbie album. 9: The Christmas Present A mixed bag for me. It’s a decent enough Christmas album for what it is at points, other times, it can be a little boring. The good stuff off here is nice. I personally love his cover of Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow.. And some of his originals are pretty good too. Rudolph, Time For Change, Bad Sharon, Let’s Go Shopping, Can’t Stop Christmas and especially Home. But not everything is great. Winter Wonderland and his cover of Merry Xmas Everybody with Michael Buble (who I’m not really a fan of) can be a little irritating (not as much as Candy). The length can be another reason. I’m happy if he wants to split into two discs, but it can be a bit much. 8: Swing When You’re Winning Easily his better swing album of the two. Some of his covers are really great and enjoyable. Have You Met Miss Jones?, Something Stupid, Things, It Was A Very Good Year, and Mr. Bojangles (of course) along with his original, Beyond The Sea. Not every song is great for me. Sometimes I’m not in the right mood to listen to certain songs.. but overall, his best swing album. 7: Intensive Care A big step down from Escapology. The first half is easily the strongest. Every single (except Make Me Pure, which has a melody that sounds so repetitive and almost corny) are really good. Not a lot of great or good deep cuts off this album, though. Some are not that memorable… but Ghosts and Your Gay Friend are ones I’d go back to. 6: The Heavy Entertainment Show A fairly strong comeback for Robbie, in my opinion. I’d say that it’s really front-loaded, but not in a bad way. The singles are awesome, of course. Personally, some of his best since around the Escapology days. But I also do enjoy Pretty Woman, David’s Song and sometimes Motherf****r. But apart from that, I don’t go back to this album too often. 5: Reality Killed The Video Star. Admittedly, I used to overlook this one… but overtime, it’s grown on me. I’ve always liked Morning Sun and Bodies. You Know Me is one I used to dislike, but overtime I’ve loved. When discovering the album front to back for the first time two or three years ago, I realised one of his best gems was on this album, which is Deceptacon. Blasphemy is a really good piano ballad too. Surprisingly, his best after Escapology, although it’s a stiff competition between this and THES. 4: Life Thru A Lens A jam-packed solid debut album for a pop star. The fun is right there from the start. Love Lazy Days, the title track, South Of The Border, Old Before I Die and especially the following deep cuts… Killing Me One Of God’s Better People Baby Girl Window w/ Hello Sir. That poem is quite savage. And the two huge hits… Let Me Entertain You and Angels… what else can I say.. they’re really great. Although they’re good on the album, I believe their real power comes through in the live performances. My least favourites are probably Ego A Go Go and Clean, and even those are enjoyable every now and then. 3: Sing When You’re Winning Now this is a real energetic and awesome album. The debut is great, but this is just pure Robbie magic. Every single song I enjoy. Really love the fact that you mentioned “Love Calling Earth” as one of your favourites. One of my favourites is “By All Means Necessary”. Also, shout out to Eternity.. as a double A-side with The Road To Mandalay. 2: I’ve Been Expecting You His best 90s album. Period. Arguably some of his best songs ever made appear on here. Strong, No Regrets (which he wrote angrily after leaving Take That), Millennium, Win Some Lose Some and She’s The One are brilliant hits. I’d also say the deep cuts are real treats. Phoenix From The Flames, Heaven From Here, Karma Killer, Man Machine are awesome. I think Grace and These Dreams are some of his most underrated or most overlooked songs ever. Even I like Jesus In A Camper Van, although it cost him $3 million. 1: Escapology Need I say more… Like come on.. Feel (probably his best hit, period). Come Undone Sexed Up Something Beautiful (my least fav single, but really good still) Monsoon Hot Fudge Love Somebody (kudos for mentioning that one) Handsome Man (funny yet really nice) Revolution (so groovy) How Peculiar (so funny how he just says “Cow” at the beginning and does a funny sound effect with his mouth, maybe a raspberry. . Can’t help but enjoy that one) Song 3 and Cursed ( these kick ass) Nan’s Song (so beautiful) And oh boy let me tell you.. Me And My Monkey.. Prob his best album cut ever. This is a family favourite song as well. My family always mention this song when talking favourites or his best songs ever. Plus, his Knebworth performance.. for me, the peak of his career. The whole concert is just spectacular, nostalgic and bloody brilliant. That may also be why this album is at Number One. That’s my list. I saw no one else commenting, so I thought why not be the first. Really enjoyed it. He’s one hell of an entertainer.
