@GaryMCurran7 жыл бұрын
Jim, while I love the Airmen of Note, I can't endorse your statement that they are the finest in the land. There's a LOT of competition for them, some of it coming from North Texas, and the UNT One O'Clock Lab Band. Here's *their* rendition of Cherokee! kzbin.info/www/bejne/hHi0p4Npd9qpbJI
@hughpenner14175 жыл бұрын
Gary C I agree that the soloist on the UNT version of Cherokee was better than the soloists here, but he's not even in UNT. As a band, AON are a better overall ensemble by quite a bit. It's not really fair to compare though, because unt is a bunch of kids and aon is all full time professional musicians. UNT is amazing though, regardless

This is one of the sadder performances I’ve had to watch, not because it’s bad, but just the opposite. It’s a great rendition that just overshadowed by UNT and Sean Jones. Not much you can do against both of them though. Still some absolutely fantastic moments though.

@sethwexler69108 жыл бұрын
Yes, they have piano in this particular band.
@GaryMCurran7 жыл бұрын
The Air Force, along with all the other military branches, have several bands for different things. This particular band is all about jazz, and yes, they have a piano. But, you'd better be professional level before even thinking about joining up, they expect you to already know how to play, and play well. So, they aren't going to 'teach' you anything about HOW to play, it's expected you already know how.
