Born and raised in the Cherokee Nation, Woody Hair exemplifies all that it means to be Cherokee. A first language speaker and traditional hog fry chef, gatherings at Woody's place hold a special place in Cherokee culture.

Reminds me of our old family reunions. My grandma was Cherokee. Lots of stories, bluegrass music, horseshoes, volleyball... after the grandparents and great aunts and uncles passed, we see each other less. Thanks for this video.

Being a Hair myself, I would love to visit with this man or his family. My grandfather was Jesse Hair, born in the Saline County Courthose in Rose.

A wonderful example of family tradition and a community respectfully celebrating and showing love towards a Elder roll-model for the younger generation. Wished I could have been there too. Much respect to you sir...

I remember when i was very young, all the family and friends getting together and doing these very same things. The old ones all gone now. No more singing and telling stories. This video makes me happy and sad at the same time.... ᏙᎾᏓᎪᎲᎢ

I miss swimming in Spring creek. Blue Hole was always way too cold for me.
