Played with family reunion string band at indiana state fair in the pioneer building, played dulcimer, awesome saw friends there didn't know I played all the instruments

Sorry. If it uses metal tuning pegs its not authentic. The only thing metal should be frets and strings. Even those should be bone and gut. Part of the charm in a dulcimer is the hand carved tuning pegs.
