New DLM driver Jeremy Fowler and myself have teamed up to make fast cars and help racers gain knowledge they need to succeed. Our journey to Bristol started with a car that was a good chassis but bad components we had to either replace or refurbish. Something that I know has helped driver's, with regards to the steering like one is swatting at flies. Is to go watch in cars of more experience seasoned drivers working the wheel. Because I can ensure you they are steering the car like they are out for a Sunday drive. They are smooth with the movement of the steering wheel. Of course, I would recommend go watch the way Jonathan and Joseph Joiner work the steering wheel on their crate car's. Plus using throttle control to assist in steering the car.

He had to find his "catch" point after setting the car. He was better tonight and his increase in smoothies has resulted in better lap times. Can hear the lack of bog mid corner just from not sawing redwoods lol

@@DirtTrackDave Well all I could think about is Wayne Brooks, giving an impromptu seminar. On how to not saw on the steering wheel. Since the entire time I worked with him, he had to have gone into professor mode a number of times on how not to over steer the car. Keep the front end pointed straight, and don't jerk the steering wheel hard one way, and back the other. Even how to place the car in the turn on entry. That way a person wasn't needing to steer as much to get through and off the turn with as little steering imput as possible...

And I preach about being smooth and no more wheel inputs than necessary. I feel that he didn't expect the responsiveness that car had and started out over correcting and cutting in too hard. Less is more when it comes to turning the car. Steering angle in fronts is rolling resistance to car attempting to change direction multiple times in a short span.

Yea, it is almost as bad as watching Jesse Enterkin from Hunt the Front steering a car in a race.

Now we didn't have the smoothest most consistent surface either. I didn't hit record on last session with go pro with was best one SMH.
