Having a plugin like this is great for saving patches for your analog version (I have the Behringer). Thanks for the amazing tutorial!!

Ive listened to tons of your videos and this one of my favorites as far as sound. Its retro, modern, and rxperimental all in one. Id love to hear this in a spacious minimalist ambient context because of its rich textural capabilities.

knowing that you can do this about plugin in let's say, your live guitar into their Voltage Modular, I believe is a thing of Cherry audio and might not be possible at all in the Arturia one. Awesome vid buddy! thanks

I really appreciate this video, I'm trying to figure out the behringer 2600, but there's surprisingly very few modern patch tutorials to get aggressive heavy sounds, but the CA2600 is almost 1:1 so this was really helpful!

It’s already discounted, $25 intro price. Won’t be any cheaper come BF I gather?

Tip: I have arturia and ca, the ca has has better and snappier envelope. The classical Depeche Mode kickdrum from the 80s that was done on a 2600 can be done on the CA whilst the Arturia can't.

Crazy psytrance sound design, itS really feel and sound analog, after have the crave witch is semi mod, i feel the same vybz in here, the only thing that missing to me is a way to control the cutoff with lfo,S&H.
@nikvr20252 жыл бұрын
There are 3 inputs for filter cutoff modulation. You just have to patch it. Hardwired inputs for cutoff modulation are keyboard, ADSR and VCO 2, but if you patch the S&H or the LFO output to the filter‘s control input which is labeled (hardwired) VCO 2 for example, the hardwired connection is overruled.

I suppose the CA2600 is utterly fascinating for those who really enjoy spending more time being immersed in the tedium of running virtual cables, rather than playing. The CA2600 must be utter paradise for sound designers....but a horrid nightmare for musicians. I've had my Reason DAW for 15 years( but never flipped the modules to the rear & ran cables)...so I've been heavily reliant on 3rd party sound designers. I love Cherry Audio to death(especially the Arp Quadra)...but the Arp 2600 looks like a hell on earth, to me.

Ever heard of presets?

@@DashGlitch Yes sir....sure have....but laying down green for a synth that I will not fully utilize, is not my bag. The Arp Quadra & Dreamsynth is more my speed(all of the sound-tweaking goodness minus the modular entanglements.)
@GeorgeL909 Жыл бұрын
It's actually super interesting. You would've actually been in the majority back in the 80s, which is why the Yamaha dx line absolutely dominated electronic music after it came out. By the 90s, most synths started looking like VCRs with buttons and monochromatic screens focusing on built in sounds and ease of access. Then those synths eventually became absolute hell on earth for programmers and sound designers with all the menus and matrices hidden under layers and codes and nowadays there's much more of a resurgence towards knobs and sliders and patches for the tactile aspect. Probably why arp practically went out of business after the quadra, but nowadays the 2600 is coveted. It's wild to think we got both ends of the spectrum in the mainstream now, with like omnisphere on one end and Eurorack on the other end. If you like the chonky sound of the 2600 but hate the patching, you could always look into the Arp Odyssey though. Almost the best of both worlds.

Watched this many times. Thanks for helping me go deeper in the ca2600. Seriously considering picking up the behringer clone - or anything think that the Make Noise trinity (0coast, 0ctrl, strega) would be more versital?

This Synth is so fat ! Also the CA 106......Got both ,) Arturia 2600 is unfortunately only okay not more. Not that punchy like the CA plugin. Stopped using Arturia stuff except Matrixbrute.....soon Polybrute ,) However Korg Arp 2600 mini and Behringer 2600 are comin' soon, too....and it's great time to grab some nice plugs pre-Black Friday. By the way thanks a lot for this vid. Good job, man!

I know some time passed from when you did this... but I would like to request a tutorial about the Voltage processors of this synth.. I just can't find any decent one on the internet and it's the only section of the CA2600 taht I can't get to work.. the only tutorial specific to it from cherry modular is just... well it's either out of date or made with a different synth because one of the six sliders is just not present, it's so zoomed in it's impossible to understand what's going on in the patch and trying to copy it just does not work ^^''' The video itself was really cool as a generic view at it :D
