Cherry Jam - no added pectin recipe - plus water bath canning.

Homemade cherry jam is so delicious and easy to make. This is a no added pectin jam recipe. With just a few ingredients you can make this and if you would like water bath can the jam to make it shelf stable for future use.
Ingredients:
4 pounds sweet cherries (8 cups)
1 medium size Granny Smith apple
3 cups sugar
2 tablespoons lemon juice

Water Bath Processing time for this recipe is 10 minutes when your altitude is 1000 feet above sea level or less. After that let the jars rest in the canner with the flame off for 5 minutes before removing the jars. Check below for higher altitudes.

For altitudes of 1001-3000 feet add 5 minutes . From 3001 to 6000 feet add 10 minutes. From 6001 to 8000 add 15 minutes, and from 8001 to 10000 feet add 20 minutes.
